    Brewmasters Warehouse

Based on the fact that your order was placed 10 days after mine, but mine didn't ship until after yours, I'm guessing I had a backorder issue that they didn't tell me about. Or my order somehow got lost in the shuffle? My final timeframe & review of my last order: -Friday, 4/19, 7am: placed...

    Brewmasters Warehouse

Emailed them early this morning, and fairly quickly got the following response: "We should be getting to your order today or tomorrow. We are just backed up at the moment." Hopefully this holds true...

    Brewmasters Warehouse

BMW has been my go-to for several years now because of their pricing, quality and service levels (Ed has been wonderful in the past). But this level of delay is just too long for me to deal with. My most recent order timeline: -Friday, 4/19, 7am: placed the order online -Thursday, 4/25...

    Beaufort, SC bar/bottle shop recommendations?

Just returned from the trip -- didn't wind up making it to any bars, but did find a decent bottle shop called Bills Liquor that had a very good craft beer selection. Plenty of variety of six packs and bombers, and the only place I could find Terrapin while I was there (which I can't get here in...

    Beaufort, SC bar/bottle shop recommendations?

Hi Everyone, I'm heading down to Beaufort in a couple of weeks to visit my inlaws. I'm not at all familiar with the area -- does anyone have any recommendations on a good bar or bottle shop to visit while I'm there (bottle shop might be better, since I'll have the kids with me)? Or maybe...

    Brewmasters Warehouse

BMW is generally my go-to for online ordering. Still haven't broken down and purchased a mill, and their crush has always been fantastic. I placed a big order last night, realized this morning I screwed it up, and they were more than happy to help me fix it (thanks Steve). Love this place.

    Crabs....

I had to bump this old thread to say that recipe this looks absolutely heavenly, and mustard FTW. Any of you Maryland folks have a recommendation for a great homebrew to go with some MD blue crab, or possibly a good local brew? I'm headed there with friends this fall (near Annapolis, I...

What would you pair with Crabs?

I just got word that some friends are planning a trip to Maryland in October 2011, and it got me thinking about this question: what should I brew to go with the ludicrous amount of Maryland blue crab that will be consumed on the trip? Historically when I've visited the area, I've had whatever...

Free Sam Adams Perfect Pint Glass

I got mine (and the couple of others I submitted for relatives) yesterday. shame they didn't come a few weeks earlier so I could've taken credit for them as Christmas gifts...but free is free.

    6 gallon carboy secondary

+1 to this. The jet bottle/carboy washer is a lifesaver when it comes to cleaning a carboy.

    Looking to get into Brewing

Welcome! (and I'm very jealous of starting with a kegerator) As a newbie myself, I'd say my best resources have been this forum and John Palmer's How To Brew. I have a few other books, but I find his to be the easiest for me to understand the basics with. I also recommend both the basic...

Brewing in a cold (50-55) basement

Thank you all for the great responses. :mug: The area I keep my brew is underneath the basement stairs. No windows, but an old block foundation and plenty of air leaks where the foundation meets the frame make it pretty cold down there (we also keep our house pretty cold this time of year...

Brewing in a cold (50-55) basement

Silly newbie question here: My basement gets pretty chilly in the winter time (I don't currently have any means of controlling my fermentation temps), so I had planned on brewing up a hybrid now that the weather's been cold for awhile. However, I finally got a thermometer to see what the...

    Stovetop Heat Retention

+1 to this suggestion. This is what I do on the rare occasions I do a partial mash, and it works great (as long as your pot fits in your oven, that is).

Looking for an extract wheat recipe

KCBrewer -- thanks! I think that's the one I'll start with. avidhomebrewer -- I found a bunch in the recipe database...which made it harder for an indecisive person like me to pick. :) I'll let everyone know how the pawpaw beer turns out (not likely to be anything near Marietta's, but...

Looking for an extract wheat recipe

Hi Everyone, I'm planning on brewing a Paw Paw wheat in the coming months. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good, basic extract wheat beer recipe with which to experiment? Thanks.

How much is too much: Hydrometer readings taking my beer away!

This is what I do. I use a Fermtech wine thief, which is easy to get the sample back into the beer. I make DARNED sure everything is sanitized well, though, being meticulous about the wine thief and the hydrometer. I figure it's made me more paranoid than I was when I was using my turkey...

    Brewmasters Warehouse

I just experienced this with my last order. I'll be posting a detailed review when I get around to it, but the short version: Brewmasters Warehouse is a great company to buy from, and after one order, they've become my HBS of choice.

    Hops Blowout- $.85/ounce

Got a pound and a half -- haven't cracked any open yet, but vacuum seals all in tact and everything looks great. Will be ordering again (once I use up all these hops).
