BeerSmith 3: Here it comes. Thoughts?

It is there only if using a liquid yeast. When using a dry yeast, US-05 for example, the starter and therefore stir plate options all go away....

BeerSmith 3: Here it comes. Thoughts?

There is not stir plate option inside the recipe when you insert your starter details? Am I looking in the wrong place for this?

BeerSmith 3: Here it comes. Thoughts?

I can't help but think if the designers of the UI really enjoy using Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 so modelled off that. It has that look and feel to it. Pretty cheap for a Beer ERP system IMO.

Double IPA Dogfish Head 90 Minute Clone

Brewed a version of this last night - finished about 2am! Used Marris Otter and Bairds Amber malts. Hops were Amarillo and Simcoe as this recipe stated and added every 10 minutes during the 90minute boil. My mash was a little too cool - around 63C (145F). Used two packs of s04 in a 3.2L...

Double IPA Dogfish Head 90 Minute Clone

My LHBS only has UK Bairds Amber - not Thomas Fawcett - will this suffice? I can't find any reasons why it won't.....

We no need no stinking beer gun...

I just used a hack saw and then some fine sand paper to get rid of the rough edges.

We no need no stinking beer gun...

Hey Has anyone built a 2, 3 or 4 bottler filler version of this? I was thinking you could make a frame that held all the taps and fillers and had some sort of linkage that was connected to all the taps that activated them all at the same time? Like a quad throttle body linkage on a carburettor...

Semi-Automatic HERMS System (Work in Progress)

Hey Bryan. Great build thread. Just wondering if you could talk us through your clean up process? How do you clean your mash tun and boil kettle? Do you have to lift them out and hose them down etc? Or have you got some way to clean them in place? Cheers Hunt

    Where to get labels printed?

Hey I'm wanting to get some labels printed - hopefully this is the right place for such a topic? Each bottle will have 2 labels, front and back, and I'm wanting to do 4 different beers - so 8 labels in total. I'm wanting to be able to bottle 400-500 bottles each, so a total of 3200-4000...

We no need no stinking beer gun...

Hey I thought about this - but haven't tried. Does the valve on the bottom not disturb the flow of beer and cause it to foam? I'm keen to try, as I've found I get the most foam when I'm starting the frist 1-2 bottles. Once I've started, and I move from bottle to bottle, it's fine. But when...

We no need no stinking beer gun...

So I shook the keg a bit to de-gas it (which is a bit of a shame as all the hops and yeast that had settled to the bottom is now floating around inside the beer lol) and used some 4mm I/D clear plastic tubing (3.5meters of it) and it seemed to be almost perfect. Still getting a bit of foam - but...

We no need no stinking beer gun...

Thanks BierMuncher. Unfortunately the beer is in a Sanke keg - so kinda tricky to stir the beer to get rid of some C02. Perhaps giving the keg a bit of a shake would do?
