    Fruit Beer Watermelon Wheat

I'm guessing you're asking the poster, but I got the juice by pureeing the watermelon in a blender and then straining through a cloth. You can squeeze out a lot of juice that way, just avoid getting too much pulp, its a pain in the ass because it'll just be more mess in your primary and it...

Pulling yeast "out of the air"

No idea what will grow. I'm on the 10th floor of a building in center city, so I'm hoping it gives a decent taste. Anyway, I have plates, no agar though, so if I manage to find some I'll take pictures and post. You can bet I'll be posting the beer that comes from it. I'm going to brew a...

Pulling yeast "out of the air"

Yea, there's a ton of information, but I've got a general idea now and have some quickly made DME "wort" sitting out on my window. Incidentally, we have a sourdough starter that we started making a week ago (doing very well) so I chucked a piece of that in with it to jump start it.

Pulling yeast "out of the air"

    Fruit Beer Watermelon Wheat

Thanks for replying. I've decided to use some of my left over wheat DME as a priming sugar rather than add more watermelon juice, mainly for the reason you gave. There doesn't seem to be any real understanding of the amount of fermentable sugars in watermelon juice and I'd rather not have my...

    Fruit Beer Watermelon Wheat

I did a similar recipe to this and bottling is coming up in a few days. I added 4 cups of watermelon juice (diluted with water so my blender could get started) to the secondary. I was thinking about using watermelon juice as a bottling sugar. Do you think it would be worth doing? Or should I...
