It's absolutely worth the wait. I brewed a RIS last summer. I tasted it after three months and it was insanely hot and boozy. After six it was still pretty boozy, but now it's pretty damn good. I had thought about dumping it and I'm so glad I didn't.

Guilty. I left my old chiller outside with water in it this past winter. I wound up with a few pounds of scrap copper tubing. I upgraded to the Hydra after that, so I came out on top. :D

Agreed. Those flimsy little hoses were constantly slipping off the chiller I used to use. By the time I replaced it they were held on with hose clamps and wrapped in tape, and they still leaked. The Hydra is miles better in every conceivable way, I love it.

Update: The galena hops smoothed the beer out quite a bit, made it even more drinkable. I took a 6er to a family bbq today, was a big hit with the in-laws. I'm thinking about making this as a lager.
