Ebiab- Removing false bottom in kettle before boil

I have a brew hardware ebiab setup that uses a 15g spike kettle. I mainly do 5g batches and chill with a jaded hydra. Leaving the FB in after the mash sets my chiller up to high (not enough contact with the wort) so i need to pull it out of the kettle prior to boil. Anyone in a similar situation...

(broken) keezer for sale (Cincinnati, OH)

Black igloo 5.2cf chest freezer converted to a 3 tap kegerator. Used for 2 years and then it died on me. Not sure if the compressor is bad or if it's something electrical but I built a new keezer and didn't want to mess with it. Collar is made of poplar stained with a dark walnut finish and...

    Sanyo 4912 mini fridge (Cincinnati)

If you are reading this post you probably know about this fridge. It was discontinued years ago by Sanyo. It is one of the few that will comfortably fit two 5g corny kegs and a co2 tank. I used it as a fermentation chamber but i can easily be converted to a kegerator (lots of forum threads...

    Poor attenuation with WLP007?

I've got a batch of wheat pale ale that i fermented with WLP007. Grainbill is simple about 50% 2-row, 45% wheat, 5% aromatic. Mashed at 154. SG was 1.054. I had really fresh WLP007 yeast and made a 1L starter with stirplate. Gave it 48+ hours on the stirplate, then cold crashed and decanted...

I have four spare 5g kegs that i'm interested in trading for two 2.5 or 3 gallon kegs. Mine are all in very good to excellent condition. No major dents, all hold pressure. All four were just completely cleaned (24hr PBW soak) with all seals (dip tube, lid, and post o-rings) replaced. Sanitized...

    New wort chiller.

For the past two years i've been using this to chill down my 5g AG batches: 20ft of 3/8" tubing coiled into the rib cage pattern. It worked fine, but took quite awhile to chill down the batches. I finally bit the bullet and upgraded to 50ft of 1/2" tubing. Since i have a wide brewpot, i had...

    fittings for immersion wort chiller

I finished building my new chiller (upped from a 20ft 3/8" to a 50ft 1/2") and i'd like to have garden hose adapters on each outlet of the chiller. I've looked into the compression fittings, but after getting all the necessary pieces it becomes quite expensive. Instead i'm looking to solder the...

Cleaning my new, fancy accuflex barrier line

Like many others on the forum, i jumped on the bandwagon and bought a length of the accuflex barrier line. So far so go, i'm happy with the purchase. I am almost finished with my first keg since changing lines, and i'm curious if anyone knows whether the standard cleaning procedure (BLC...
