    It should be fine. I can't imagine the megapots are any thicker than sanke kegs (did not fact check this), but it has been successfully done on those, take a peek at the soldering stainless thread

    Why/when would you want to bypass the coil? Wouldn't you just change the output from the pump to the next vessel after you finish circulating the mash?

    I used camlocks on my last system to install the HERMS coil, thinking that I would want to remove it for cleaning. However, since the pot is only used to heat water, there is really no need to ever clean the outside. If you can get the tri-clamp stuff cheap and can weld stainless, go for it...
