Swelled can of crushed pineapple. What to expect ?

I'm betting it's fine in terms of getting sick, but also probably absolutely disgusting.

    Detroit Area Brewers CO2 Options

There is (was?) a weld supply shop on Van Born, a little east of Telegraph. That's where I used to go when I lived in that area.

    Northern Brewer - Buyer Beware

Pretty sure they're the ones who bought out my LHBS then blew everyone out and closed down the store (online only now). I have zero interest in them, they can go out of business tomorrow for all I care. Seems everything today is owned by a single corporation, no more local stores.

Did Northern Brewer Purchase Austin Homebrew AND/OR Adventures in Brewing?

AIH *was* my local homebrew shop... I was shopping there before the Ann Arbor warehouse existed. It's a shame this all happened, not a lot of comparable homebrew stores in this area these days.

    Storing beer in Corny keg?

Yes, just make sure you purge it with co2 and keep it under a little pressure. Also make sure it's carbed otherwise it won't be under pressure after a day or 2...

    best beer pour photo?

Seriously, most the "food" you see in commercials isn't even edible. It may have started that way before being airbrushed, but often times it's just not food.

    double chest freezer failure ????

You'll find that a lot of newer freezers are listed as "garage ready" if they are indeed designed to withstand hot and cold ambient temps. Otherwise they are assuming it's going into some sort of conditioned space.

    double chest freezer failure ????

It's because most folks keep these in climate controlled spaces, and omitting that fan saves money for the manufacturer.

Can't balance commercial Sanke kegs (gas in beer lines)

After letting it sit for a day or two I did notice that beer was leaking out of the tailpiece, between the tailpiece and the nut. I'm assuming that this is where the issue lies. I tried all the spare gaskets but nothing helped. I did notice that the barbed tailpieces that came with the coupler...

Can't balance commercial Sanke kegs (gas in beer lines)

Having some real problems with my kegerator. I normally only have cornies on tap, and never have any issue with them. This includes the commercial beers that I get filled in my cornies. However I tried putting two sanke commercial kegs on and I kept getting gas in the beer lines, leading to all...

    Adding Ice to Finished Beer

I'm sure you're angering someone, but I doubt their feelings matter. It's not something I'd ever do, and I'd probably look at you weird for a bit if I saw it, but at the end of the day I don't really care. For the long term I would just work on getting your gravities dialed in better, which...

Wanted Buy or borrow: 5g Keglove in SE Michigan

Looking to buy or borrow two 5 gallon kegloves with the ice packs. Really need them by Saturday. The local homebrew shop is out of stock so so far I am out of luck. Located in SE Michigan, and a local transaction is ideal due to timing.

    Teamwork keezer

I don't think it will be worth your time or money.

What are the best Cincinnati breweries?

I'm also not a Listermanns fan. Some of their beers are decent, but most are far too sweet for my liking. I've never been to their brewery, I've only had their packaged beer.

What are the best Cincinnati breweries?

Oh, if you like New York style pizza, check out Goodfellas in the "Over the Rhine" neighborhood. Really good pizza joint and the upstairs is a bar area if you want to grab a drink as well.

What are the best Cincinnati breweries?

Braxton is definitely worth hitting. It's a bit outside the city (maybe 20-30 minutes from downtown depending on traffic) but Cartridge Brewing is very good and has good food, and Sonder is worth a visit. Narrow Path is good as well, especially if the weather is nice as their outdoor area is...

Hot and heavy at first.....then nothing

It be like that sometimes. Fermenting beer is a living thing, and it's not always the same.

    Oxygen cylinder exchange cost?

Keep in mind that the cost in filling those cylinders is largely from the labor. The gas itself is cheap (O2, CO2, etc.) but the guy having to fill it isn't. And the amount of work filling a 100 pound tank versus a 5 pound tank (or smaller) isn't that different. Moral of the story: try and use...

208wye system but i want to run 5500w elements

It IS 120 & 120 between two different phases and neutral... But you don't get to add them together to get your 240v you want. That only works when your incoming power supply is 240 volts (typical household supply power). Since you have 208 wye, you only get 208 volts between your hot phases...

208wye system but i want to run 5500w elements

There's no need for a neutral with a 208 wye, you get the 208 volts between two phases. Neutral would be needed if 120v was also needed (phase to neutral would be 120). Having the neutral doesn't change the voltage between any of the phases, it'll still be 208 between them whether the neutral...
