I first used the 'standard' food-grade buckets. I did that long enough, that I figured I "saved up" by doing so and replaced the buckets with Speidels over 4-5 years. But now I know I won't out live them.

I use Speidel fermenters. Nice multipurpose that store easy 'cuz they're not glass. Doing 5gal cooks, I use a 30liter for primary & a 20liter for secondary. Never had a problem.. so far. Shop for best prices. With plastics, always but new. (I once bought a glass carboy cheap, found out that...

BTW, my most recent session-pilsner has had an issue with head production. Just enough carbonation too make it drinkable.

Oh, head is good. Yet, one thing I appreciated doesn't all my trips to England was they are required to give you a pint (20 ozs, w/small allowance for head) if that's what you paid for. I was just teasing with my post. :bigmug:. (note the head ;) )

Brewer's Best kits were all I used for the first 4 years or so. Never an issue. My local shop in Ft Wayne, IN kept a small stock & monitored dates very well, but could order kids not on the shelf when needed. I used recipes after that mainly 'cuz we moved to El Paso, TX and BB kits just went...
