    Belgian Brune Recipe Advice

That is my concern, i am not sure if i should dial some of it back slightly. Wanted something malty, roasted and with the dark fruits there but not too overpowering. The Special B addition is my main concern as its described as "Intense" wasn't sure what amount would be the right balance having...

    S.American Cerveza Recipe

This is currently lagering (missed the summer window slightly.....alot) Massively overshot the ABV its ended up @6.7% so will see what it actually turns out like. Think it might have left the realms of a refreshing easy drinking cerveza.

    Belgian Brune Recipe Advice

This will be my first All Grain brew after numerous Partial Mash's. I recently purchased a HopCat brewing system which i have done 2x partial mash brews on and feel now is the time to go All Grain. Was looking for some recipe advice and fine tuning. Here is my broad plan for a grain bill Base...

    Stan Hieronymus Brewing With Wheat

This is another one I’ve had my eye on, but been put off by it’s age. I bought the Brewing Elements Malt book, hoping it would go into some detail on designing beer in terms of the Mash Bill but it didn’t go much deeper then describing the different grain types.

    Stan Hieronymus Brewing With Wheat

Yeh I was looking at this one also until I realised it was published when I was 1 😅 Shame they’ve not updated that series of books as they look good

    Yeast Starter

I use a 2L Conical flask for making up starters. what I’m asking is what size jars should I look to purchase for storing the split off yeast samples in, what would be adequate ?

    Yeast Starter

Cue 5 million questions from me: what size sample would I need to take from my initial starter ? What size mason jars would be ideal for this for the scale I brew at ? (Currently make 1L starters with 2x WLP packets) Something like 0.25 L jars ? Should the air gap be kept to a minimum ? I.e...

Anyone read this book and recommend? The reviews on Amazon are either 5 star or 1 star

    Yeast Starter

How long can the yeast starter be stored in its chilled state ? is there abit of a window to brew in or does the timing need to be pretty strict ?

    Yeast Starter

I have used liquid yeast and a yeast starter for my last two brews. However i have just dumped the full starter (1L) into the fermentation vessel when pitching. Looking to separate it off this time and just want to clarify the method: Get WLP940 + Starter Wort up to Temp (13*C ?) should i...

    Erdinger Dunkle (Dunkelweizen) Clone

Had chance for my first proper sample and think it is close. There’s a hint of a flavour that I can’t put my finger on but I suspect this was from the initial fermentation temp f**k up, it’s not unpleasant though. Will be brewing this again at some point this year but substituting the Malt...

    Erdinger Dunkle (Dunkelweizen) Clone

I have tried mine after it’s had 8 weeks bottle conditioning and it seems pretty good. I have ordered some Erdinger to try it side by side (drank all the ones I ordered when I brewed it 😅)

    Erdinger Dunkle (Dunkelweizen) Clone

I havnt tried it yet still working away, but the feedback Iv had from my dad is that it’s spot on for an Erdinger dunkel a hint more chocolate’y could maybe dial that back abit on the next batch as will definitely be brewing it again.

    Water Report is unbalanced

figured it out now, it actually wants you to type the unit in each cell along with the figure. Bit **** UI/UX

    Water Report is unbalanced

yeh I get that, the issue isn’t the numbers on the report or how they are collected/reported it’s putting them into the Bru n Water spreadsheet that’s the issue it’s not acknowledging them.

    Water Report is unbalanced

I have entered all my values as mg/l as the Bru n Water spread sheet asks for, but it is still saying it is unbalanced. The only value i haven't entered is Potassium as its not provided by my water quality report, but the spreadsheet says its not necessary.

    Books on Hop's

I have recently finished the Brewing Elements Yeast Book which was excellent so was strongly considering the Hops book from this series. For the love of Hops However i have seen the author has a newer book The New IPA which is 7 years newer (2019) with the other book been from 2012. Has...
