    Willow Creek Hops

I realize I’m reviving a five year old thread, but since there is very little info online about Willow Creek I figure I’d add some more data to the internet for anyone searching. 2nd year Willow Creek plant growing in zone 10A (coastal San Diego, CA). Small harvest but the cones on the plant...

    Hartwick Hops

How’d the DIPA turn out? I’ll be brewing with my 2nd Year Hartwick harvest in the next couple of weeks. My cones have a strong tangerine scent, will be curious to see if pineapple comes through once brewed, or it could be a coastal San Diego terroir thing. For those who have brewed with it so...

Leaf deformities ID help (curling, discoloration, blistering)

I’m in coastal San Diego (10A). I planted 14 varieties of hops around the garden over the past couple months, for the most part they have been doing very well. These are first year field grade crowns from GLH. My biggest struggle has been dealing with black bean aphid infestations, which has...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Going back to my roots! This was the first beer I ever brewed over a year ago at the start of the pandemic. I just kegged the 2nd 5 gallon batch. Accidentally built the recipe around an OG of 1.044 so slightly upped the hop additions to keep the bu:gu ratio in line. I used a packet of Verdant...

What kind of keg is this?

The conversion ended up being simple. The threads are tapered (NPT), which I hadn't heard of before, but Amazon had NPT to ball lock packs. It's a neat keg, the 4 different posts allow you to customize your ins n' outs. Just kegged a Norwegian Pale in it tonight!

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Hah! Well the grains were more so in a taped up paper bag... (and definitely had bug eggs and mites crawling around when I opened it up...and might have smelled kind of off) ... But hey, the mash smelled good! What's a little extra protein between friends?

What kind of keg is this?

I believe this is the model: https://www.alloyproductscorp.com/catalog/3001010-general-purpose-vessels/B501-0328-00-E-R Although I don't see any info about the connector types.

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Made 5 gallons of this BIAB as my first brew experience. It's a bit over 2 weeks in the bottles now, still needs some more time for the carb to build up. Definitely tasty and easy to down in a matter of minutes if you're thirsty. Mine came out darker than most of the photos, likely due to using...

What kind of keg is this?

A neighbor was kind enough to pass along a couple kegs that he used for soda making some 10 years back. The first is a 5 gal pinlock corny and the second has 4 posts including a liquid and gas. I took this to my LHBS and they hadn't seen one of these before. Any idea what connections I'd need to...
