How Often Do You Clean Your Keezer?

I've only had a keezer for 1 year now cleaned 3 times due to loss like you, stupid picnic taps leaking or getting pinched in my case.:( Luckily it is on rollers and only about 10ft from a floor drain and a hose coming off the water heater. Just a quick rinse and I'm good to go.

    Replacement firmware for iSpindel (GravityMon)

wow awesome I'll have to give this a try my last few brews have been either kviek or lagers so even just the temperature correction is interesting.

    Replacement firmware for iSpindel (GravityMon)

I assume the mqtt message is the same so I should be able to still send to my BrewPiless?

Fermizilla - Pressure Fermentation - Noisy Ferment!

Definitely set it ahead of time or you could be surprised. Sometimes I need to adjust because there is a big difference between cracking pressure at low flow and high flow aggressive fermentation.

Fermizilla - Pressure Fermentation - Noisy Ferment!

This is from my last batch the orange line is pressure, the dark blue/purple is the beer temp, the red is gravity. The pressure drops with cold crash then continues to drop because the c02 is more soluble at the lower pressure. The blips up in pressure is me adding C02 then it drops as it...

What's your maximum capacity BIAB brews?

I have a 16 gallon kettle that is basically the same diameter as the spike 15 and only make 5.7g into the fermenter. My false bottom is about 3.25" from the bottom and some full volume mashes are pretty dry because of the amount of space below the false bottom. I'm considering for my next...

    Nice NPT bulkheads

Yeah the camlocks barb fittings and one of the ball valves are also from brew hardware, good stuff. I had the pump mounted to the kettle then was looking for ideas on keeping the flow up and velocity across the temp sensor high during mash when I found Bobby's video so the configuration is...

    Nice NPT bulkheads

Maybe I'm the last person to find these but if you are like me and are hanging heavy things off your kettle these are awesome. 1/2" true weldless bulkhead from Brew Hardware. I bought one of these to add a return flow port and when I realized what it actually was I bought another for my pump...

    Necessity of a pressure breaker?

Depending on your starting pressure you could see vacuum during cold crash.

    Crankandstein 3GT

The peck marks look like someone ran a hardness test which is a little odd for the aluminum plates. Looks like the rollers might be hardened.

    C02/Pressure Drops when temperature drops

This is one of those instances when if you can remember back to high school chemistry there was a lesson on ideal gas law. 99% of students sat there thinking when will I ever use this....

    Dry Hopping: keg hop? Magnets?

My language wasn't very clear, typical of engineers. I was whining:) about cleaning the seams and texture on the vacuum sealed magnet bags. I toss the muslin bags too.

    Dry Hopping: keg hop? Magnets?

I have had long lasting neipas from the fishing line in trick though the top of a bucket fermenter. I actually just drilled two small holes with a circuit board drill 1/32 maybe, to run the line through and taped the holes shut. when I switched to a pressure fermenter I used the magnets in the...

    Bland hop forward beers

I read this somewhere as a trick for dealing with O2 you pick up or didn't purge. In general it is good to have some ability to mitigate oxygen if for no other reason than the C02 gas we use can contain up to .5% oxygen:(. Based on how long it takes for my tablets to dissolve in room temp water...

    Bland hop forward beers

I had a few years off between 3 small children and working way to much when I tried brewing again I almost quite because I could only make blonde ales. Then I found a clone recipe of Todd the axe man and realized how far off my old recipes where from my new taste buds. Right now I have 5...

Having problems with harsh bitterness in a lot of my beers

If you are doing some kind of straining combined with the relatively small hop bill then it is most likely not hop burn and I would just focus on the previous advice relative to mash ph.

Having problems with harsh bitterness in a lot of my beers

While I agree that you had a high ph between the salt additions to ro water combined 8 gallons for a light and small grain bill. I also wonder how you handle the hops post boil. Do you filter out the hops before fermenting? I used to get a lot of hop burn when everything made it into the...

    Squeeze the bag

I hang it then squeeze with gloves. I have adjusted my equipment profile so I have to squeeze some to hit my preboil but not like it owes me money. This gives me some room to hit my volumes. If I come up short I can give it the business and makeup a quarter gallon.

Best methods for bottling? Do you still use bottling buckets?

The last thing I bottled was a neipa that held pretty well for the 6 weeks it took to drink. Like others said I created enough priming sugar solution to be able to measure a reasonable amount in each I chose 5ml because 5ml +/- .5ml not a big deal 2ml +/- .5ml is not so good. I dosed a bunch...

    Ruined by Kviek and technology

I've used voss and lutra. Lutra for a pseudo lager couldn't comment on how clean because I used 1/2 oz mouteka in whirlpool for 5gallons. The voss I have used only under pressure around 20psi. I feel like I got more orange at at 95 than 85 but they weren't the same hop bill. Definitely nothing...
