Appreciate the responses. May look into a fermentation cooler/converted fridge. I genuinely want to make good beer... if I’ve got to spend some $ and get creative to do it right, I’m willing to do so.

Fall beers are my favorite too. I enjoy Ambers, and that style is among my wife’s favorite so that is a good option. As far as fermentation temps I plan on going indoors, so low 70’s in a dark closet. Garage is way too hot with the heat index having been into the 100’s recently.

Yes! But I’ve got to learn the process of brewing before I get too deep; PB2 is definitely something I want to experiment with at some point.

Also, I’d drink anything. I can appreciate any style. I gravitate more toward Stouts and IPA’s while rarely drink Sours or Saisons, but I like to enjoy all styles.

A little help on those acronyms...

Finally breaking out my Northern Brewer kit I’ve had for over 3 years. Looking to brew my first batch... but the Chinook IPA is clearly old and needs to be discarded. Any recommendations for a first time beer kit?

My wife and I are both teachers, so I can appreciate those “sound bites.” Kids say the darndest things. I’ve got some years before the teenage years. I hope that, assuming I find enjoyment and longevity in this hobby, it is something I can one day share with my son. Teach him the complexities...

Twins? Wow. That’s a lot of work. We have our routine down. If I need some time here or there it will work out. The bigger problem for me will be clutter in the house. She assumed I would do it all in the garage; that isn’t going to fly in this heat. Now we have plenty of space indoors... but...
