For Sale Several items: 5 sixtel Sanke Kegs, Monster Mill, Therminator, TapRite Regular, Kegging/dispensing system with regulator, manifold and Pluto guns

These were all used by me for homebrewing but have gotten out of the hobby for foreseeable future and these are good used condition working items hanging around taking up storage space I need. I listed them all on eBay: Security Measure.

More beer or more brew days??!

So, If I could make 10 gallon batches instead of 5, I would have more beer - GOOD! But then I would have fewer brew days - BAD! THOUGHTS?

I am the best new neighbor ever

People bought the house next to us that had been EMPTY for seven years. My wife made cookies and I brought a growler of HB IPA. There was a kid there, like 10 years old, and he said "my Dad will like this" (about the beer).

Love/hate of a homebrew keg kicking. Isn't dat veird?

So I just pulled an IPA from a keg I think is about to kick and I'm weirdly disappointed that it didn't but then when they kick I'm also a little sad. I know my homebrew people can identify, right? right?

Need clarification on "No brew before the boil."

So, as I brew today this question came up again. We've all heard the "no brew before the boil" guideline, and I've seen where it matters for calculating IBUs, boil times, pre-boil gravity and so on. But does that mean "before the boil starts?," "before rolling boil reached," "before thinking...

First Belgian Dubbel - seems like a lot of Phenol

First time trying Belgian Dubbel, also first time with Wyeast 1214, also first time making a beer with added sugar! I'm using the Adventure in Homebrewing all grain "Chimay Red Clone" kit. Grain Bill 9 pounds Belgian Pilsner 2-Row. 0.5 pounds aromatic malt 0.5 pounds Cara Munich 0.25 lbs...

Should I do diacetyl rest for Wyeast 2007 - Pilsen Lager

On their website, it noticeably does NOT say a diacetyl rest is recommended, whereas it seems to say that for most of the other lagers. I'm fermenting an American lager, OG 1.050 at 50F and wondering if should bother with diacetyl rest or not.

    Slow leaks from Corny Kegs

I have several 5 gallon ball-lock Corny kegs - new ones from Adventures in Homebrewing, less than a year old. Some of them leak, and it's a really slow leak. I had checked everything with soap and thought all was well, but noticed I was losing CO2 from the tank faster than should, with three...

I finally made a beer my wife likes!

I know others of you out there can identify with this challenge. My wife’s favorite commercial beers are Grolsch and Stella Artois. But she’ll like stouter, darker beers from time to time, like a Vanilla Porter. Some wheat beers, even a Guinness sometimes. My homebrews always seem to be too...

Help me with my SWMBO recipe - can you say Stella Artois?

In my quest to brew something she likes, here is the latest attempt: 8 lb German Pilsner - Weyermann Malt 0.5 Cara Pils / Dextrin Single step infusion (BIAB) Strike temp 157F. Initial mash temp 154. After 60 minutes, mash temp 152F. Water is tap water - I have no idea the pH, hardness, calcium...

Why did one beer come out red and one amber?

I brewed two similar beers and one came out red, the other a light golden. Unfortunately, 2 things changed in the recipes, but here goes (same tap water): Beer 1: - 10 pounds 6-row malt - 1 pound 20L Briess Crystal malt - 2 ounces Cascade pellets - 63 minutes - 1 ounce Cascade pellets - 18...

    My kegmenter-in-a-fridge lager setup

Wasn't sure this was working at first. For reaching lager temperatures - I just have a fridge - warmest I can get it is about 42F. I brewed this Pilsner 5 days ago. Pitched a swollen smack-pack of Wyeast 2124 Bohemian Lager into wort that was 74F and ambient temp was 71F. After 8 hours moved, it...
