Check gravity of a batch of cider. Tasty, but still has a bit to go. Pulled a couple of 16 oz. samples of the last brewed beer, an all Northern Michigan juicy pale ale. Local grain, local malting company, and local hops. Still a bit young.

52 years of age and brewing or making cider 2-3 times per month.

I made one quite similar. Added tangerine peel and coriander at 5 minutes left on the boil. My best beer to date.

Added a couple of ounces of Cascade to a batch of APA. Smells divine.

6 gal of APA 226.5 + 6= 232.5

I don't believe that it is pine. Poplar or birch would be my guess. Nice looking paddle.

Post a pic of your new paddle. I may be able to tell you what kind of wood it is.

Added dry hops to a white IPA. Checked gravity of a simple cider.

Boiling wood will extract lots of tannins. Not recommended.
