I moped the keezer out yesterday as I have 2 beers almost ready to keg so thought it would be a good time to do so. Cut and assemembled 4 new beer lines. Took the taps and shanks apart..... you name it. Looking to help prevent some mold and condensation . What are some of you using in this case...

    hop question

Hi brewers. I brewed a pale ale on Aug 3. It called for a 3 day dry hop but I was away on a family vacation and only returned last night. Beer is in fermonsters with lids I adapted for closed transfers. I am weary of opening the lids to add hops due to oxidizing the brew. what do you all think...

    pale ale too malty

As title suggests, I find some of my pale ales good but not great and I find often they are too malty for my tastes. I do know there are many factors such as mash temp, profiles, yeast , etc but also wonder if there is too much crystal malt as per recipe? I recall reading that the crystal malt...

    oxidation question

I brew double batches and keg . When I put a keg in keezer all is good and great beer flows. It seems the second keg that sits on a second co2 system in spare bedroom is becoming oxidized. It has happened a few times and always the second keg. These kegs can sit for some time , even a few...

    closed transfer took 45 minutes!!!!

Use fermonsters with posts on the lids for transfers into kegs. Use a gas disconnect off the keg into a bucket of starsan to watch the bubbles and the inflow of beer. Usually I can transfer 5 g over in 15-20 min . Not yesterday. I try only 8 psi as these are plastic fermenters ( fermonster 7 g)...

Hi all. Brewed a double batch of Big Dog brown ale yesterday. All went well. Also, recepie calls for medium crystal and a...

    dry hop question

I know this has been discussed a lot but will throw it out as many of us ferment with different equipment. I brewed an IPA saturday. Double batch and I use fermonsters with adapted lids with CO2 and gas posts with floating diptubes to try O2 free transfers , or at least limit o2 exposure. It has...

Was having a great brew day but forgot these two items!!!! Added the nutrient to each fermonster later prior to aerating but my IPA looks like caramel!!!!!! Hope it drops clear.
