    Shirron Ventmatic Faucet replacement parts

beergynt, See if this link takes you to a thread I had from last year. Maybe I covered what you are after. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/forum/threads/vent-matic-seals-gaskets.637940/ Hope it helps. Pete

    False Bottom Stuck Sparge Woes

CGVT, sorry to resurrect an old post, but is that stainless pad still working out for you? In my case I don't think it's the FB flexing as much as the bottom of the cooler growing upward when heated, leading to a seal with my FB suction. Did you use the "chainmail" type of pad, or one of the...

    Vent-Matic Seals Gaskets

Sweet setup! I wound up trying a "Danco #90" o-ring for the end of the plunger. 1/2" OD x 1/4" ID x 1/8" H That appears to be working out. I'm going to pick up some metric ones that are just a touch larger, M4x6, and see if those work too. Really, I don't have any issues at the moment, but I...

    Vent-Matic Seals Gaskets

microbusbrewery, You're headed in the same direction I was. I already have bulk supplies of all the other O-rings, which were absolutely much more economical, and plenty easy to micrometer for size. Those all have the traditional round cross section, or square for the faucet to shank joint...

    Vent-Matic Seals Gaskets

Thanks. Any idea if that's a proprietary gasket then? I certainly don't want to sound ungrateful, but $1.50 EACH is a bit much. You can usually get standard O-rings at a tenth of that cost. At least I have an option!

    Vent-Matic Seals Gaskets

Has anyone already fought the battle of trying to source replacement gaskets for older Vent-Matic faucets? I think I can come up with a typical/standard o-ring replacement for the two around the lever ball, but the one on the end of the slide that actually does the forward sealing. Sort of...

    Shirron Ventmatic Faucet replacement parts

Dustin J, did you ever score the seals you were after? I also have Ventmatic faucets and would like to at least put some spare seals on the shelf. Thanks!

    Driving around with a Fastfermenter

Thanks. I hadn't considered that. Maybe my old bottling bucket and just drain it in.

    Driving around with a Fastfermenter

In the interest of saving some time I have been considering a FastFermenter. Right now I use 5 gallon buckets or a SS Brew Bucket. I don't always brew at home. Picture a group brew day over a buddy's house, etc. Has anyone had any experience securing a FastFermenter in a car/truck for...

    Wiseacre coffee milk stout clone

frankrhps, How did this latest batch turn out? Any update to your initial attempt? Still using 17 cups of coffee? That seems like a lot of coffee (more than one gallon?). Are you making a concentrate these days? I too got bit by the GGUTGD bug. I can't get it where I live, but still...

Return to top of MLT or side?

I am in the midst of converting a 5 gallon Rubbermaid into an MLT for (more or less) a Countertop Brutus 20 setup. I am only looking to make 2.5-3 gallon batches. The original plans, and most photos I have seen of others, have the return line to the MLT going through the lid. Has anyone...

Cheap & Easy 10 Gallon Rubbermaid MLT Conversion

Thanks. Man, there's so much to read up on. I am sure the efficiency on the job I actually get paid to do has dropped substantially in the last few months. Yes, nylon compression sleeves is exactly what I was thinking. It's not like those connections have to be completely leak free either...

Cheap & Easy 10 Gallon Rubbermaid MLT Conversion

jdahl10, the idea is to use the braided hose outer casing to filter through instead of the false bottom. The crisscrossing of the braid itself makes it an effective filter screen.

Cheap & Easy 10 Gallon Rubbermaid MLT Conversion

First post! I am converting a 5 gallon Rubbermaid to a SS false bottom MLT. I have not seen this question specifically asked, so please direct me if I have missed it. I have searched, but man there's a ton of great information to sift through. For false bottom installations I have seen...
