I finally made the jump to electric. I was hesitant to go with the 120v system but it worked like a champ yesterday. Blichmann had 40% off the 10 gal boil coil and tower of power.

So in other words don’t buy the 120v...

Does anyone prefer gas to electric? If so why?

I just returned the kettle to the brew store. They said they like a “gentle” boil. They watched the video I took of the boil (see original pic) and said “it looks right to me”. They are also going to try it outside to see if they can get it up to a boil in a colder environment.

This might be just what I need to get me over the hump until I can find a more permanent solution.

I made this a few days ago. Even the wort smelled nutty. Was going to use PB2 for the peanut butter and coco nibs for the chocolate. This that will work for flavorings?

I thought about dunking them I. Sanitizer but I didn't want to lose any of the oils. I took all the leaves put them in a Muslin bag and tossed it in the freezer for 24 hrs. That's what I do with all my fruit too. Never had any issues.
