    Wort addition

    My grain bill was just over 12 lbs. I did my mash with 18.3 qts, then batch sparged with 4.6 gallons of water until I got about 6.5 gallons of wort.     Beersmith calculator

    I'm using the Beersmith program to attempt to calculate my sparge volume, and it keeps giving me a negative number. It is saying that I should be sparging with -3.33 gallons of water. Any ideas as to what I a doing incorrect, and how it can be fixed? Thanks.
