Blowoff tube did its job... Now what

I have an extry'n on standby just in case one gets clogged. Sanitize it and swap it out and then start soaking the other one to get the gunk out. I've had to use this before for stouts fermenting with S-04. **** gets rowdy. :rockin:

    Porter Lager?

Whew. Glad that I'm not the only one who learned something. :) I'm just happy that with my buzz and all that I didn't try to go all "I know about beer" on them and try to "educate" them because I would have gotten skooooled. And it would have been rightly deserved. :rockin:

    Porter Lager?

This was indeed a "Baltic Porter." You learn something new every day. Thanks good people of the beer forums. :D

    Porter Lager?

Interesting. So are they just using lager yeast? Or do they cold ferment as well?

    Porter Lager?

Ok, so I was at a gastro/brew pub this weekend in a large-ish city and they only serve their own beer. In perusing their menu I noticed that one of their offerings was a Porter which they described as a lager? Say what? Sure, (most) all things are possible but is THIS possible?

    Cincinnati folks: Rhinegeist question

I'm going to be in Cincinnati next week. I finally got a chance to try some Rhinegeist and am most impressed. Is their Saber Tooth Tiger still available in stores or at their brewpub? Thx.

    Peace Stout Kit: Coffee Stout

Wish I had time to brew them all. I only brewed the Peace Stout Coffee because they sent it as a freebie. I love coffee stouts a WHOLE LOT so I will definitely make sure I get to the one you posted this summer/fall to be ready in time for winter drinking. :) Thanks for the suggestion.

    Peace Stout Kit: Coffee Stout

Btw @BeardedBrews, I have now named my coffee stout "Married Man's Stout" as well. Genius steals, right? ;)

    Peace Stout Kit: Coffee Stout

This also took me a few seconds as well. I was all like "do all married guys like coffee or something? I don't get it...." Then I got it. Or rather I got the fact that married men don't get it, which is actually getting what you were hoping everyone would get, right? :D But about...

    Peace Stout Kit: Coffee Stout

Thx. That's very interesting. So how do they do it in a "real" brewery as all the coffee stouts I have had generally have a decent head on them? I'm wondering if they add cold brewed coffee to the fermentor since it has considerably less oil extraction.

    Peace Stout Kit: Coffee Stout

Hey gang. I have made about 15 to 20 batches of beer (AG & Extract) and I pretty much have my process down to a level that produces quality beer. However, I made a Peace Stout Kit that was sent to me by the good folks at Northern Brewer for free for ordering some dollar value's worth of stuff...

    Trying to understad Saison/Farmhouse

I appreciate all the responses. This is very helpful and explains, at least to me anyway, why there are so many wildly different beers out there that are saison or farmhouse. I have become quite fond of them for the most part. Every now and then I will try one that tastes a bit out there for...
