what kind of thermometers do you all use? brands? type? links?
i bought a 3" thermometer for my mash tun, and im having a hard time calibrating it. thanks
my plan is to use a keg as my boil kettle. and i was planning on using a dip tube to get as much liquid out without having to lift it, etc.
BUT
do you think that the dip tube will clog up with all the hop particles and sludge thats usually left at the bottom of the kettle after the boil...
does anybody have a clone recipe for this great St. Louis based brewery (4 Hands) chocolate milk stout?
they now have many variations of the original too, Tiki, Horchata, Abscence of Light.

i just soak my nibs in some vodka for a few days then add the nibs and the vodka to the secondary. it always turns our nice. not a super fake chocolatey flavor either
i currently only boil about 3 gallons of water to make into wort. then add the last 2 to it when moving it into the carboy.
i dont know how many gallons the keg is.. its the old big ass college "throwin a kegger party" size keg. haha
and i know for a fact it needs a good cleaning. it still...
i'm soon planning on making the switch to all-grain brewing. and ive been brewing extract kits on a turkey fryer currently. and i plan on still using that for my main brew kettle. but i have a used keg that i plan on cutting the top open and using it somewhere in the all -grain setup.
