    This is a good point.. it would be good to know which style is more "affected" and which one less, so you can decide weather or not you need to use the blowoff tube..

    I always reached my gravities with no problems,and always used dry yeast.. I have a SMASH at first day of fermentation now, it's bubbling hard but without any big foam bubble.. just half inch krausen head..

    Hi everyone, i'm new to the forum.. I see a lot of pics of people with huge krausens and blow off tubes in their carboys, they seem very proud of that stuff, like men talk about the size of their peanuts.. but is that really a good thing?? I brewed 3 times and i never had foam taller than 1...
