    Lagunitas Clone (extract)

I figured it was a partial with the 2 row and Munich malt in there. Just want sure I should boil that small of water for 60 min. I will steep and then and to bring to 6 gallons before boil so I end somewhere near 5 gallons.

    Lagunitas Clone (extract)

I found a recipe on the Brew You Own website for this great beer. I was thinking of brewing it up next week and had a question. Here is the recipe for the 5 gallon batch: (5)lbs (9)oz light DME, (1)lb 2-row, (.4)lbs dextrine malt, (.3)lbs crystal 60 malt, (.2)lbs light Munich malt. Hops go...

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

I brewed this up a few months ago. Having never tried the real thing I was always unsure how mine compared. This past weekend I was in Chicago at a local pub. They had Revolution brewing's Citra Hero on tap. Their take on Zombie Dust. I must admit that what I brewed up was pretty similar. Great...

    Your best kit

My best to date kit had to be Northern Brewer White House Honey Porter. Lots and lots of great praise for that one.

    Brewing Posted Recipes

Thanks for all the info. I have been doing one gallon recipes from kits and moved to a 5 gallon recipe from this site. Did the Zombie Dust clone with a total of 8 oz of Citra hops. We will see how it turns out. I didn't alter in this recipe. I will in future recipes for sure. Sent from my...

    Brewing Posted Recipes

As a new brewer... when I see some of these awesome recipes that have been posted (Centennial Blonde, Zombie Dust clone, Mean Galene BIPA, etc) most of these have been posted several years ago and AAU units have changed on hops. When I try to recreate these if I throw into a program like...

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

Racking the ZD to secondary to finish some clean up. The preliminary taste was amazing. Looking forward to the final product. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Home Brew mobile app

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

Brewed this yesterday. The citra bomb aroma coming from fermentation is crazy strong. I might get banned from future brews if the wife gets a whiff of that. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Home Brew mobile app

    Safale US05 Yeast drop

I did a NB Dead Ringer IPA a week ago and used the -05 yeast. Tried to rehydrate and it did the same thing. I no activity after about 3 days. I re pitched dry and shook the heck out of the carboy. Checked it the next day and the normal activity was being carried on. Sent from my SPH-L710...

    Adding extract

Is there a set time when to add different extract parts? I believe that typically DME goes in prior to heating the water. If I were adding like 7 lbs of LME is it best to split it? Does that change the beer color by splitting vs all at beginning of the boil? Sent from my SPH-L710 using Home...

First Brew Day - What I learned so far

I am interested how this turns out for you. I got the same kit for my birthday and had the same problems (bad fluct. in temp, smaller stainer, I don't feel I got the yeast going right away, etc.) I bottled (it was a disaster, I didn't have auto siphon, I do now.) Left it in the bottle another...

    5 Gallon Extract Question

I have noticed through online retailers like Northern Brewer that on their extract kit instructions it mentions boiling of 2.5 gallons of water for the mashing and addition of extract, then adding the remaining water to bring to 5 gallons when adding to the fermenter. Has anyone done this and...
