    Ferminator Chamber

Finally got around to buying this and eventually fermenting with it too. Pros and Cons Below. I think this is a great piece of kit, especially anyone who doesn’t have room for a temp controlled fridge or Freezer. Pros. It works really well at controlling the temp, even for cold crashing, I...

    Brewfather water needed for batch

Thanks for the quick reply, thanks for confirming that grain absorption. The way you worded it makes perfect sense. I think I will ignore that 4% as I don’t think it would effect the overall too much.

    Brewfather water needed for batch

Hey guys, small batch biab brewer here. Just started to use Brewfather, the UI/UX is great compared to beer Smith. Just a quick question regarding water amount my aim is to have 5.5 litres in kettle after boil. I brew a little bit extra to account for losses like trub. With my boil off rate of...

    Ferminator Chamber

They do mention when using expansion modules, an additional Cooling/Heating Unit may be required. Im hoping I can get some sort of a cold crash with basic version. Do Peltier coolers have a bad rep? Cooling/Heating Unit At room temperature (20°C) the Ferminator can lower the temperature to...

    Guinness Hop House 13 Lager

My recipe creation skills aren’t quite there yet, but would love a recipe. I’d say a nice clean lager yeast would work well. HH13 is quite clean and the hop flavour and aroma isn’t too strong. I will be in the open gate brewery in the coming weeks, the staff are very knowledgable on the products...

Never seen a fermentation look like this

It’s a 1gallon batch and I did use quite a bit of whirfloc. It was just over a 1/4 of a tablet. I usually cut the tablets into 4 pieces as I do mainly 1 gal batch’s, I’ll post the final beer when it’s done.

Yellowing Leaves at bottom of plants

Hey guys. First year hop grower. Got some tettnang growing in the garden. Got these plants sent from Germany when they were really small and transplanted into the ground. Some of the leaves at the bottom of the plants have gone a bit yellow and dead looking just down at the bottom of the plant...

    My BIAB beersmith set up

Thanks for the feed back guys. As for the amount of water, Im not looking for exactly 1 gallon to bottle, 1 gallon is what im basically looking for as a minimum, Ill take 1.5 or 1.8 if thats what I end up with. The water doesnt look like its overkill, 3.92 goes in the kettle (Ill lose about...

    My BIAB beersmith set up

I was thinking maybe just using the temperatures that beersmith gives me and then just Doing a 60 min mash, 90 at most, I presume I'll extract pretty much all the sugars I can within in that time

    My BIAB beersmith set up

So in that 75 mins its (65 minutes at 66.7C) and (10 mins mash out at 75.6C) correct? I have it at 2.5 gallon to fermenter, but I will lose some to trub in the kettle and then some to fermenter loss aswell, between .5 gallon and 1 gallon based on what I can gather from other peoples...

    My BIAB beersmith set up
