Want: Heady Topper and Founders KBS

Very interested in trying both of thse brews, ideally in 22oz bottles. I have access and would be willing to trade Pliny the Elder, Abyss, and most things Oregon and Washington that are bottled. Let me know what you are looking for and I will see if I can get it.

    Big Porter Help Needed Please

https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f126/black-butte-porter-145879/I am planning on brewing a porter that I can age for a year or more. I like the idea of using this Black Butte clone. I'd really like to get the abv of the brew up to about 10%, so my plan is to bump up the 2 row to about 18lbs. (I...

Any downside ti using two coolers to mash?

I have a converted 5 gallon Gatorade style water cooler that I use to mash. Works great. For a little bigger beers or bigger batches, not enough space. I can get another for free. So my question is, any difference between splitting the grains into two coolers instead of one bigger one?

    Do I need to aerate?

I have really just been ignoring the idea of aeration because to this day I have never so much as shaken a fermenter to introduce o2. I can't imagine my siphon into my carboy with a racking cane introduces anything. I have been pretty satisfied with most of my beers and have never had one with a...

    over sparge?

I did my first all grain brew session last Saturday. Very stoked. A friend gave me a little guidance the day before I brewed to basically just set my nerves at ease. Went great, no issues and the beer is happily fermenting away in my basement as I type. My question is that he said in his first...

    need a little advice please

Brewed the deception cream stout recipe last Saturday (12/15). Pretty high brew at like a 1.060, at least everyone seems to land right in there. Personally, overtime I buy a hydrometer, I seem to break it right away, so never measure. I didn't go with a starter because to be honest, habeas never...

Recipe help - Tsunami Stout clone

I'm pretty interested in brewing something very similar to the Pelican's Tsunami Stout. This will be my first jump into all grain having only brewed extract with specialty grains in the past. I've also never taken a stab at making my own recipe before so I'm looking for some feedback as I...

    Containing Roots

Last year was my first year w/hops and I kept them in pots all summer since we moved half way through. I'm thinking pretty seriously about getting them in the ground for this summer, but am a little concerned that they will take over my yard. What do you do to keep the roots contained in the...

Brewed my second batch last night (after a 3 year break) and was just looking for some info. Ran across this site and it looks to be a great resource! Thanks to everyone who has contributed, I'm looking forward to learning more about the process.
