I just got a rims tube setup all put together and setup (minus the pump and fittings). I got the setup used from a fellow homebrewer, and got it for 150. Not a bad price IMO. I just gotta find a deal on the pump now.

Yup, it came in a cereal killer box and everything. I threw all the box and packing materials away, and I was so pissed off and frustrated with the handle that I tossed that as well. So I don't think there is much I can do about it now, but at least I got lucky that it works.

I was able to get much closer to the temps I wanted this weekend by preheating the mash tun. I took water at near boiling and poured a couple gallons in the mash tun before adding the strike water. I still missed my target, but only by 1.5 degrees.
