Getting a deeper red from Raspberries.

I was recently at a bottle share and had the pleasure of trying The Bruery - Berazzled. It looks like this: Now THAT is the red color I am going for in mine, yet they come out pink: What's the best way to get a deeper hue? I used 4.5lbs of raspberries on 5 gallons of beer for a week...

    Airlock liquid disappeared overnight.

Read that it could be a crack in the airlock causing this. It happened once on this batch so I switched airlocks to another one that's never had an issue. Happened again last night. Any way to stop this? Don't like the idea of star san solution mixing directly into my beer.

    Unintentional pellicle.

Hey guys...I have a berliner that I sour mashed, collected and boiled, and threw in a carboy on a fresh yeast cake from my previous berliner. I always boil so their should have only been sacc, but obviously something else got in it. It's probably because I lost my second airlock and just used...

    Brett/Sacc timeframes and results?

I just read a blog post on a two week sour at themadfermentionist...I had no idea brett could finish so fast. I was always under the assumption that you need at least 6 months for the brett to do it's thing. Well ****... I've loving my sour mash results as they are right now. I boil off the...

    Pellicle or Krausen?

Well this doesn't look normal does it? Nottingham yeast, all the bugs from the sour mash should be dead, boiled it for 20 minutes. Carboy sanitized, some grain did fall into the wort, must have been when I was squeezing the bag. Last two didn't do this, but I didn't use nottingham...probably...

    Does Lacto create a pellicle?

I've searched and it seems like it doesn't on it's own... I did a sour mash last week and kept it under the heat lamp for 5 days, collected the wort Saturday and there was a strong pellicle on it. The method I use for sour mash: 1. BIAB, sanitize pot/bag/spoon/everything that touches it...

    100% 2row Berliner?

Hey guys, I've made a couple Berliners that turned out awesome using 50/50 pilsen/wheat....now my homebrew store is out of both of those. I really want to brew a new batch up, my last Berliner is all gone now. How would using 100% 2 row make a Berliner? I'm not familiar with how grains...

    Topaz IPA (extract)

Hey guys, long time lurker first time poster. I've been brewing for about a year and have finally decided to branch away from kits. I'm starting simple by modifying the NB Chinook IPA kit by sllighty lowering the bittering hop amount to account for the slightly higher AA when comparing Chinook...
