    Consecration kit from MoreBeer

What might be the effects of higher temps during the souring phase? I've made it through to the point of adding the bugs. I added roselaire (excuse the spelling, i'm on a mobile device) about 2 months ago, and i've just been waiting and being patient. We are going through a bit of a heat wave...

    Tool!

Another tool fan here. I've was lucky enough to see them during that small venue 10,000 days tour.....one of the best nights ever (wedding night and a few others with the wife clearly rank higher). I also got to have one of the caduseus wines from the cornville vinery/tasting room......its...

    Fermentation issues or not.

I'd agree with others that the temp seems suspiciously high, unless maybe it was a belgian style and your were going for that banana and clove flavors. A hydrometer is good to have around, so I'd echo the recommendation to grab one when you get a chance, but if your airlock is still bubbling...

First time brewing! Few questions please

I've only done a handful of brews but I think i can field this one. I believe an auto siphon is basically a type of racking cane, ( maybe i'm confusing the name with the bottling wand). The auto siphon gets the beer flowing from one container to the other pretty easily, I got one in my starter...

    2nd Batch ever - improvements & issues

That beer sounds interesting. As a fellow beginner bottling was probably the most disapointing part as well. Hoses drip, and my wife refuses to fill bottle because she can't get the hang of the wand. Some things that we've either figured out or had friends tell us that helped were..... 1...

    Vanilla Imperial Stout

Advice from a new brewer who has only brewed extract beers (so take it for what its worth), most of our beers turned out pretty good, without a temperature controlled chamber. That said i live in northern california and we rarely see temps over 90 and any given day wont swing much nore than...

    Vanilla Imperial Stout

So I'm sure I'm too late to comment but i just thought i would toss out there that the best extract kit I've done so far (and i've only done about 6-8 )was a bourbon barrel porter from Northern brewer. It sounds fairly similar (though much less boozy) to this one. Some of the comments...

    Consecration kit from MoreBeer

This is my first time posting, but it seemed like a good time to jump in. I recently picked up this kit and brewed a handful of weeks ago (it already dropped to about 1.018 and i moved to secondary and dropped in the currants and brett). So far so good......except one odd part. After the...
