So I bought three more mr beer kits because they were ten bucks a pop. They all come with American light. I'm thinking of adding two cans of puréed apricots(30oz), two cups extra dark malt extract, and 1/4cup clover honey. Should I have any worries or change anything up?

Thanks. I didn't think it was too long, but I have been adding more and more flavors and dme to recipes so I figure I'd like to go as long as possible to get best results. Currently just brewing and bottling to fill up garage fridge for college football season and then im going to just...

Brewed last Saturday, made a pumpkin Oktoberfest lager, a clover honey IPA, and a blackberry cocoa stout. Right now im thinkin of letting them go for 3 weeks I the fermenters, and 4 weeks in the bottles before fridging for at least five weeks. If I were to let them go 4 weeks in the...

Red is usually choc cherry stout Fuschia is for either cherry or raspberry wheat Orange will be for...

My first batch was the plain old American light. It was good. Not great. I then made a blueberry lager, a chocolate cherry stout, a lime Mexican cerveza, a NW ipa w extra hops, and I currently have a cherry wheat in a hopper. I'd say they all were fantastic. I use both hme kits as well as some...

Follow up question, what could I use to strain the debris out an then should I allow it to sit for a bit more prior to bottling after straining?

Ok here's a question. I used the muslin sack to boil hops in and now I'm ready to bottle, but there is some very visible floating debris in the fermenter. Can I/should I strain it prior to bottling? Seems to be quite a bit of it in there and it has been two and a half weeks since brew. Thanks

I suppose I'll wait until July fourth instead. That should be about enough time to let them age properly

Thanks. I was planning on letting this sit in the mr beer fermenter for two weeks, then bottling in 12 oz long necks, and warm conditioning for three weeks minimum, and cold conditioning for one. Should be right on target for Memorial Day.

The hop choice was because its what was in the freezer. The boil time came from a chart I got on the intertronz The amounts? Just threw in an oz of each. I usually follow recipes to a t, but I just wanted to screw around and see what could happen. If its good, I know what I did, and I'll...

Hello friends, I just brewed mr beers northwest ipa refill, but I began with 1.5 lbs of dme and boiled 1 oz of fuggle and 1 oz of liberty hops for 13 minutes. Then I removed from heat, added the nwipa hme and finished up with the yeast. I think I followed all steps correctly. Question is...

Here's to mrbeer. I made a couple gallons of blueberry lager and bottled it, and currently have a two gallon batch of cherry chocolate stout fermenting. I agree with previous posters when they say doctoring up the basic kits are a good idea. If you have a local store it's a great idea to go get...

Not thinking anything special. Just have a bunch and can use it. I always end up with sugar sludge on the bottom of my bottles. Figure this may dilute easier?

Ok this maybe an odd question. Instead of sugar, can I use organic agave nectar for carbonation when bottling?

The refill kit doesn't have it, but I do take the extra step and add dry malt extract to water and boil prior to adding the HME and adding to the fermenter. So boil the sack of hops in the water with the malt extract for fifteen minutes then remove hopsack before adding HME and go to fermenter...

Ok so I'll try glacier. Next question. Do I make the wort with the HME, then let set for a week in the mr beer fermenter, then add the pellet hops for a week? Or add them when I add the wort to the fermenter? Also, with pellet hops, should I use a muslin sack to avoid more gunk floating...
