    Spring 2024 Corny Keg Giveaway

My latest batch is a NEIPA called Manta Ray featuring Columbus, Citra and Mosaic.

Here's a draft of an AI designed label for my latest NEIPA with Columbus, Citra, and Mosaic. On the same trip to Hawaii that I snorkeled with the turtle in the Honu label, I went snorkeling with Manta Rays at sunset. It was an amazing experience. I have footage, but it's pretty dark and won't...

Honu is a Pale Ale/NEIPA I've brewed a few times featuring columbus, mosaic, centennial, and nelson sauvin. I made the label using a still image from GoPro footage I took snorkeling in Hawaii. QR code links to the GoPro video. I used ChatGPT to generate the image for this year's Christmas...

Frigidaire Model FRC445GB Mini-Fridge Kegerator Conversion

This is probably a long shot since this thread is so old, but I think I'm having issues with mine. It seems to be running a lot more than usual even though I have it on a lower setting. I've also noticed that it's getting frost on the back wall but not on top of the fridge. It's still keeping...

What do you do with your spent grains?

One of my other hobbies is carp fishing. I used spent grain from my Lemon Drop Saison to make a method mix to catch a 16 lber.

    Armadillo hops from Yakima valley

I finally brewed with these. I made a Session IPA with Conan that under attenuated, but came out OK. I definitely taste melon/honeydew. Kind of reminds me of a watermelon jolly rancher. Interesting, but I don't know if I'd do another single hop beer with them. I have a few ounces left, so I'll...

What craft beer do you secretly despise?

Tröegs Mad Elf. I can't drink it without thinking of cough syrup. I enjoy most of their other beers though.

Any specific questions? Forgot to mention I got a canning element for my stove. I think it was $20 on eBay. Something to look into if your using an electric stove.

    Armadillo hops from Yakima valley

I just got a half pound of Armadillo in the mail today. I'm still not sure what my plans are for them yet though. Probably a single hop pale ale to start. I'll update once I get it figured out.

Question about Turbid Mash: Couldn't you just use direct heat?

I'm doing BIAB in a 10 gallon kettle. I won't have much headroom, but I think I can pull that off. Nice! I plan on fermenting mine with East Coast Yeast Bug County...so I guess it's not a true lambic. I might set a small amount of the wort outside for a spontaneous ferment. I was...

Question about Turbid Mash: Couldn't you just use direct heat?

Yeah, I'll have to figure out just how long of a boil I'm capable of. I suppose the boil doesn't have to be as vigorous with a lambic? If that's the case I'm thinking at least 3 hours might be possible.

Question about Turbid Mash: Couldn't you just use direct heat?

Interesting. I'll probably be using this method as it seems ideal for my setup. Thanks for the quick and detailed response!

Question about Turbid Mash: Couldn't you just use direct heat?

Any results from doing this? I'm planning a lambic and I am thinking about doing this. I biab on an electric stove, so I'm already about maxed out on the volume of wort I can boil.

    Show your BIAB Stand/Set up

I do 5 gallon batches in my apartment on an electric stove. It's not perfect, but it works. For a while I was using a grill grate on top of my kettle to drain the bag. The grate eventually started to rust a bit so I switched to my broken hockey stick method. I think the bag drains a lot...
