Counterflow chiller can it be fixed?

I had a brew today and when I went to use my homemade counterflow chiller (which worked on my last brew) water from the hose was coming out of all 4 ports. I can’t figure out what went wrong. Has anyone else seen this? I modeled my counterflow after the exchillerator.

First brew with new gravity system - Never too cold to brew

First brew yesterday with my new gravity system and new mashtun. My efficiency improved greatly (from low 60's to 72% yesterday) which I'm really happy with. Had to deal with some weather issues. Brewing in sub 20 degree weather needs a little better planning. The spigot off the house kept...

    Chicago Temperature issue

So my DIPA was almost done fermenting when the deep freeze hit. It was fermenting at about 66 in the basement the entire time, but yesterday it dropped down to 56. I'm thinking of transferring to secondary and dry hopping at this point. Do you think I'll experience any issues with this sudden...

    Fridge to Fermentation Chamber Question

I have an old 1950 GE Fridge that I started using for a fermentation chamber. I connected it to a Johnson Controls A19AAT-2C Freezer Temperature Controller. It's been good at controlling the temp, but I noticed it gets musty and moldy in there. How do I go about preventing that?

Help! Is something wrong with my beer?

So I recently brewed a 10 gallon batch of an APA and split the 10 gallons into two fermenters. I used Safale SAF-04 on one and Wyeast 1968 on the other. The SAF-04 was cloudier when I transferred to secondary to dry hop. I started cold crashing on Sunday and the 1968 has cleared up great, but...

    Equipment Failure Brew Day Fiasco

First off let me start off by saying that this Brew Day was our 5th beer, 3rd all-grain and first 10 gallon batch. We started off the day setting up to bottle our last beer, an American Wheat Ale, and realized that the spigot on our bottling bucket was broken. We had to make a run to the LBHS...

First All Grain Batch - A little help

I created my first all grain recipe in BeerSmith 2.0 and commenced brewing. It's in the fermenter now, so only time will tell how it turns out, but there are a couple of issues right off the bat. Maybe you all can help with some answers. Problem #1 - Expected 6.98 Gallons out of the Mash and...

    Thoughts on my First Recipe

I'll be brewing this in two weeks, so I figured I would post it here and get some feedback before I bite the bullet and hopefully not brew a batch of crap. I've been going back and forth on whether to go with 2 Row or Maris Otter. Also, I intend this to be a hoppy beer. Recipe Specifications...
