[FREE] Several cases of 12oz bottles

I recently moved to kegging and no longer need the stockpile of 12oz bottles that I had accumulated. They are free if you come over and pick them up. I have about 6 cases of cleaned bottles and a bunch that need cleaning that will go in the recycling if no-one wants them. Got to make space in...

4 faucet kit. Can anyone meet or beat this price?

I got a 2-tap setup from kegconnection and am very happy with it. I'm looking to expand this to 4 soon and will probably go back to them rather than hunt around to save a few dollars simply because the service was very good and the product delivered in great condition. If you have any...

    visiting montreal

Just a quick update in case anyone else gets to visit Montreal and goes to the trouble of a search... We hit Brutopia which we liked, and I went to Les Trois Brassuers a couple of times, liked the Rousse/Red ale but the others not so much. We also went to L'Amère à boire which was tasty beer...

Will it be a brew hut? (pics)

    Thanks. Pretty obvious really :-)

Will it be a brew hut? (pics)

What's an electric conduit elbow? I reckon I need one of these for my outdoor kitchen. Is it just a corner piece of PVC (or similar) tubing, and you can thread the electric wire (UF?) through later?

    visiting montreal

They are putting me up in the Intercontinental - I don't know where that it is relative to everything but I understand the city is walkable or use the metro to get about. Thanks for your tips! We found brutopia on the net, but nothing beats a personal recommendation from a few HBT folks. I've...

    Dimmer Switch Question

are you cooking and causing a lot of heat or moisture in the room? in any case, i'd just tell him like it is, coz this sounds like an electrical problem to me, and something you don't want to be living with edit: meant to say wiring problem - of course it's an electrical problem :)

What to use as a weight for dry hopping

When I've done this in secondary I've just thrown em in. They seem to settle through the brew eventually. But for kegs, I think it'll be better to have them in a hop sock or something for easier cleaning. (But then again, oxyclean will get em out).

What to use as a weight for dry hopping

haven't dry hopped in the keg yet (planning to do it this weekend) but my lhbs gave me a little hop bag and some marbles. put marbles and hops into bag, they say, tie up with dental floss, tie dental floss to top of dip tube. but i can't remember if they said waxed or unwaxed dental floss.

    Going to Philly, Any Suggestions?

For cheesesteaks I prefer Jim's or Tony Luke's to Pat's/Geno's. This witorwithout place is getting a lot of attention too, it's new but supposed to be very good if you're in that area. Jim's is on south street with a good number of bars around and kind of a haight/ashbury vibe if that's your...

    Philadelphia signs Vick

It's a shame that he can't just go ahead and say "I did this and it was wrong, I'm sorry". Seems like no-one is apologizing anymore, there's always someone else who did it, some desease that caused me to do this. Really annoys me. Come on people, take some responsibility for your actions.

    Philadelphia signs Vick

I was at the Linc last night (till half time anway, it is only pre-season) and the guys I was with are die-hard fans and were excited about it. Like a lot of people, they don't particularly like McNabb (must say I do, but I'm English, what do I know) and they think that this will be a really...

    Philadelphia signs Vick

Don't know how this works - the Eagles, and most other NFL teams, sell out months if not years in advance, how are more people going to be able to put more money the owners pockets? And where do we stop with all this post-criminal case punishment? Vick's case was extreme, what he did was...

    Back to Brewing

Not sure about the easy PM method but it sounds like you are really just steeping the grains. This will provide flavour, colour etc. but you'll miss out on the sugars extracted by the sparge. Not the end of the world, as most of your fermentables are coming from extract. To OP: I think you...

    Wii Homebrewing Game (Great Idea?)

I could see a wine making game for the Wii where you have to trample the grapes, but this seems a bit dull, to be honest. It would be another situation where I'm better in a game than in real life, just like Tiger Woods Golf. My beers would come out perfect on the Wii while I'm drinking my...

    Hefeweizen specialty grains

+1 on that. I've had great results brewing hefeweizen with 6lbs muntons (I think) Wheat DME, no speciality required to get a very authentic taste. Worth laying out for the wyeast wiehenstephan yeast if you can get it. ps: you'd need to steep something for a dunkelweizen, though. [Edit...

    Outdoor Kitchen?

You and me both, buth SWMBO's family is in southern NJ, so it's in southern NJ we live if we're going to live in the US. I'm going to check out some materials costs etc. today. With the economy and everything, it certainly makes sense to at least have a contractor cost it out - I'd deffo...

    Outdoor Kitchen?

Yeah NJ is not the optimal place to live to have an outdoor kitchen, but we have an outdoor living room and that's working well. Won't be year-round by a long shot but we will at least be using the grill through the winter. I like the idea of asking a few contractors to bid on it to get ideas...
