    WY3522 flavor changes?

I wonder at what temperature they fermented. I am curious about this potential change as well. Having just sampled from the fermentor a (not sure what category you'd call it) Belgian spelt table beer with WY3522, I am very pleased at the restrained yeast character. I have experienced this...

    MoreBeer Torpedo Keg

I'd be curious if anyone can comment if these are wider than standard ball locks. I was thinking of picking up the 7.1 cu ft Danby freezer from Costco soon and would eventually want to fit some of these in it.

Anywhere worth stopping by in Munich?

Not a particular place, but I'd find myself some Augustiner hefeweizen. Can't get it outside Munich/Germany if I'm not mistaken. And it's mighty tasty.

    Omega Labs & Gigayeast Saison/Trappist

Please do. I am curious if it's worth trying out. Shipping to CA might prove hazardous when I could just as well get a smack pack of both yeasts.

Help from the hop growing experts.

Lots of good info over at Great Lakes Hops. Click on their DOCS page and check out the nutrient deficiency PDF. Maybe more potassium?

    Crack in Better Bottle

Yup. Mine cracked the other day while I was cleaning it in the utility sink. Guess there is no magic fermentation vessel. They all have their cracks...I mean faults. A SS Brew Bucket is looking better and better. Don't think they'll fit in the mini fridge though.

    Calypso Pearl English IPA?

Sounds like a good beer to me. Let us know how it turns out! Can't recall ever having a beer that featured either those hops or base malt.

    Belgian tripel with T-58

http://www.mrmalty.com/calc/calc.html Assuming you're doing 5 gal, then two would be fine.

    Sterile Syphon Starter

Is it possible that's just co2 leaving soluton?

Just bought an upright freezer and now I am so bummed.

Do you keg everything? What about getting a dual stage temp controller for it and keeping it for bottle storage, i.e. keep it at 70 to bottle condition or at 55 for long term storage.

Product Review: SSBrewing Technologies 20 gallon Kettle

Thanks for posting this. I have been going back and forth about which kettle to upgrade to for months as well and was holding out for some feedback on these SS Brew ones. EDIT: Also, how about an update on how the trub dam works on your next higher hopped beer?

    Belgian Golden Strong suggestions?

You say "last time", meaning you've made this before? If so, I'd say give the candi sugar a try, that way you can compare. However, candi sugar may be slightly less fermentable than corn, and either way I doubt you'd hit 9% unless you were using a more attenuative yeast than before. My other...

    Cutthroat Kitchen Auctions

The first one mentioned (using the outside of the pan) was actually one of them, 5 or 6 episode I think. Pretty entertaining show. At least, something the SWMBO and I can both enjoy.

2 Carboys, 1 Batch, Different Krausen???

Please do. My wife said she already saw this year's release in stores. Oh how I hate how early Christmas stuff comes out. Makes sense, since they're using fresh hops. Best to get it while it's fresh, I suppose.

2 Carboys, 1 Batch, Different Krausen???

Nothing to worry about. In my experience with hoppy beers the krausen has a healthy mixture of cold break/hop goop/trub whatever you want to call it. The krausen of the second fill carboy just has a higher concentration of it. Should finish the same, maybe even a little clearer, if brulosopher's...

    Heady Topper Clone Kits- Farmhouse

I too would be interested in the kit sans yeast. I do like how you have the option to double mill, as I do BIAB. Given that the Yeast Bay has a flat rate, I think people would be interested in picking up a few vials from them and the grains/hops from Farmhouse.
