ECY-01, what grist/style did you brew?

I've got some ECY-01 on hand. 2014 version. Looking for some ideas and input on what people did with this years strain, and even prior year strains. Looking for grist types, styles, etc? I have the ability to do just about all of it, and I'm sourcing a barrel to sour too in the near future.

American Pale Ale Citra Pale Ale- Oddsides Clone

Here's a really close clone of the Citra Pale Ale from Oddsides, in Grand Haven, Michigan. Very close to what I remember it tasting like. It's a fantastically, easy drinking, ultra flavorful Pale Ale. These guys make one of the best Pale's I've ever had, and the Brewer, and the Brewery are TOP...

    Metallic Aftertaste

Just peeking around at ideas here.. I have an IPA that I did. New recipe I came up with, but nothing far off from what I normally do. Hopped it with 2012 crop leaf hops.. Smelled great, fermented it with a new dry yeast I haven't used before. Fermentation temp was controlled, and the beer...

    Comet Hops

Anyone have some taste info, or anyone use them? I planned to use some for bittering in IPA's and Pales... Seems to be a mix bag on peoples opinions.. Wanted to know what some thought about it here?

Lesson Learned : Blow Off Tube

For the first time today, I found out I needed to listen to my instinct in brewing, and use a blow off tube... Only I didn't heed that advice. I brewed a 1.101 stout yesterday. I pitched a baby starter, and 2 packs of wyeast 1084. I had the temp at 64* when I went to bed in the swamp...

Here's a question about aging beer....

I'm still pretty new to brewing, but I'm a fast learner, and pretty good with the whole brewing process.. I'm moving at a fast clip on brewing beer and have had some incredible brews under my belt I am new to kegging however, and understand the whole process well. However.... In my...

    Hops... Shortage? Harvest time?

So I'm new to brewing, new enough that I haven't brewed through an entire hop crop harvest and understand the timeline of the harvest. My LHBS has a pretty stout selection of hops, so I never noticed with the exception of online, people claiming stores being out of a variety of hops. I was...

Temperature Questions for Secondary and Beyond

I've search, and perhaps didn't do that good of a job, so I'm gonna re-hash this question. I've recently started using a chest freezer with a controller on it to ferment in while I'm getting my stuff together to start kegging. It has made a remarked difference on my beers, even being a newer...

    Sweetness.....???

Okay, I've read through here, and I'm sure I'll answer my own question, but I wanted to be sure. I've brewed a good few handful of times already. All of them have been partial mash/extract recipes, however my first was a "box kit" that was steeped special grains, and then extract. It was...

Thanks for all the info, think my first time went well!

So I'm just getting into HB. I'm a huge beer geek and love most all styles save for lambics/sours. Anyways, I got all the beginner stuff recently, and had some stuff left over from maybe 10 years ago when my father was sort of into home brew. 2 huge glass carboys, and funnels, and brushes...
