    Anyone have a Fermentasaurus?

I finally tried bottling my carbonated beer straight from the fermentasaurus via a bottling gun. it failed. My process was a normal ferment with an airlock. I took 6-8 bottles of trub off the bottom and purged the bottle with CO2 before putting them back on. I will try dropping the all the trub...

    Anyone have a Fermentasaurus?

I'm going to add priming sugar so I don't waste the sodastream gas. Glad to hear they worked out ok. Did you bottle them cold? I'll increase my volume later (got a 70L pot) but just wanted to change 1 thing at the moment :)

    Anyone have a Fermentasaurus?

Got my NE IPA underway and it's looking pretty good, I dropped 3 bottles of trub off the bottom before fermentation got so active that all the trub got kicked up. I found the best way to make sure there were no air bubbles or wort pockets in the trub in the bottle was to squeeze pump the bottle...

    Anyone have a Fermentasaurus?

Got a fermentasaurus for my birthday so will kick of a brew this weekend. Going for an NE IPA hop & water but hopefully ends up clear. The massive dry hops will test out the collection bottle https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/view/497853/dino-juice

    Anyone have a Fermentasaurus?

Any update Sadu? Did the trub drop eventually? One of the fermentasaurus videos on youtube show him blasting the dry hops in the bottle with CO2 before he puts it back on the fermenter, that might be the way to avoid oxidising the beer. My plan for carbing is to do exactly the same as I would...

    Anyone have a Fermentasaurus?

Sounding good Sadu, hopefully the trub falls. Let us know. You could use the normal top until it's fermented then add dextrose and the pressure cap so you can carb but don't have to release pressure manually until the spunding valve arrives.

    Spunding valve confusion

Sadu, I'm hoping to get the fermentasaurus for my birthday at the end of the month and am looking to do the same as you, ferment under pressure, then bottle directly from the fermentasaurus as I can't afford & don't have space to keg. I was thinking about getting a bottling gun and a Co2...

    Post your infection

I have these 2 beers that are both in secondary and both look to be having an issue. Can someone confirm? The first one was a pale ale dry hopped with fresh hops The second was an iipa that was hopped in the kettle with fresh hops I'm sad cos this may mean only one of my 3 fresh hop brews this...

    New Zealand Brewers

I brewed a pale ale today that will be dry hopped with fresh cascades when they arrive. Then I'll be brewing 2 fresh hop beers, one a wheat beer and probably a iipa or a imperial red ale

    Post your infection

Hi everyone, this is only a starter (for an already fermenting beer so not urgent) but what do you think should I chuck it out? It's like a white film on top, I was trying to grow some yeast from a Wyeast vial to help finish off a beer.

I'd certainly love to see that recipe

    Post your infection

Thanks Unionrdr. After reading this I still prepared to transfer and maybe just sour the brew but when I tasted and it seemed all good and I think maybe the spots were just the yeast continuing after I'd transferred to secondary as it had dropped a little bit more since 2 weeks ago. I've bottled...

    Post your infection

This is my Christmas Saison, I was planning to bottle it tomorrow and I noticed funny looking white clusters on the top today, any idea if this is an infection or not? It was down to 1.015 2 weeks ago when I transferred it to secondary, tomorrow I'll remeasure but should I be concerned?

I've always just thrown them in the mash and never had any issues , didn't even know people were precooking them. I guess I've only been using small amounts though (200g in 8kg bills) so may not experience any issues

What hops do you have in the pliny clone?

    New Zealand Brewers

Apparently Four Horsemen Hopocalypse is 50grams/litre So that's one of my reference point The other is close to 3 IBU:OG ratio for IIPAs so in this case 297:101

Yup, fingers crossed it ends nice and dry

    New Zealand Brewers

Finally got to brewing some new beers over the weekend (been too long) Brewed a Christmas Saison on Saturday, I have no idea how this will work, with all the spices it could end up being disgusting but it tasted reasonable going into the ferment, maybe a little too much ginger but that won't...

    Hop Bottle

Good point, but it's definitely a creamy aroma, could be a yeast issue. I'll get a bottle or two to some other Brewers and see what their feedback is

    Hop Bottle

So I just cracked the first bottle and whilst the underlying beer is good, bitter but a little sweet, there's a huge DMS issue so the hopping technique paid off but the no boil meant the DMS didn't get evaporated.
