    Advice on hop blocker

Thanks. Couldn't this be placed after the pump but before the chiller? That was my thought. I can call them and see what they think.

    Trub Filter & Plate Chiller

Sorry to revive a fairly old thread but I'm thinking about picking one of these inline filters up. My system is all camlock right now but I'm thinking I could just cut two short hose runs before and after the filter and install camlock fittings to the hoses and keep everything else the same...

    Advice on hop blocker

What do you guys think of something in line like this? If I'm gonna shell out the cash I'd prefer something like this I think. http://www.brewershardware.com/FILTER1.html

    Advice on hop blocker

If there is one thing I've learned about this hobby ove the last few years, it's that the things that don't look the prettiest usually work the best.

    Advice on hop blocker

Great info. Thanks for that. The all stainless one seems to be reasonable. I love the Jaybird stuff but I don't think I can spring another 150 bucks for that kind of setup at the moment. As it is, my buddy and I are about $3000 into our system. If we don't start making beer consistently pretty...

    Advice on hop blocker

It's just that my wife left me for a hop spider and I haven't been able to bring myself to use one ever since. In all seriousness, I don't have anything against them. I was just looking for a bottom of the keg solution as I'm not sure how I'd hang the hop basket off of my keggle. I'll take a...

    Advice on hop blocker

Anyone have any opinions or advice on a good hop blocker that's not a Blichmann for my keggle? I'm looking for something that sits at the bottom of the keg and not something that hangs off of the rim. Thanks in advance. Rick

    Anyone using Jaybirds Hopblockers?

So apparently not? Haha. OK, does anyone have any experience with hop baskets (spiders?) vs. bottom of the keggle type filters like the one I posted above?

    Anyone using Jaybirds Hopblockers?

Last week my brew partner and I ran into some serious clog issues in our plate chiller due to trub and hop gunk from the boil kettle. I've already ordered and installed a custom false bottom from Norcal Brewing Solutions and it's awesome so I was debating picking up one of their hop blocker mini...

Pumping from glass carboy to keg wiith March pump

Thanks for the responses guys. I certainly don't want to ruin the beer so I suppose I'll stick with the racking cane. I wasn't sure if there was a better faster way to move the beer. I have two carboy caps already so i can try the CO2 trick. Thanks again! Rick

Pumping from glass carboy to keg wiith March pump

Hey guys, I'm sure this has been asked a thousand timex so I apologize. I just want to know how you guys are pumping your beer from your carboys into your kegs. I have a March 809 pump and because the glass carboy doesn't have a valve I'm not sure how to situate my hosing to get a good...

Questions about March Pumps answered by the Factory!

Thanks for the response. I was just mainly concerned about stripping the threading by screwing on say, a stainless fitting directly to the pump considering its plastic. I appreciate the info. PS. I use the search function before I post anything on this forum. :)

    Mach Pump Fitting

I understand that threads are threads but thanks for enlightening me anyway. I've read that after a while brass and stainless can wear down the plastic threads on these pumps so that's why I was asking.

    Mach Pump Fitting

Hey guys, can any of you tell me which fitting or adapter I should pick up to avoid connecting my ball valve directly to the pastic fitting on the march pump I just ordered? I heard connecting the valve directly to the pump could damage the plastic pump threading so I'd like to not do that...

Questions about March Pumps answered by the Factory!

Hey Walter, I hear it is not recommended to screw a ball valve directly onto the pump because you could damage the plastic threading etc. What kind of adapter should go between the pump and my ball valve? Thanks! Rick

    Kegging / Carbonation Question

Thanks again! I've force carbed and it's worked out pretty well but for some reason I just think natural carbonation provides a slightly softer foam? Am I crazy to think that or is it in my head? Next time I'll let the keg sit at room temp for at least a month before I tap. I'm in no rush...
