Over carbed after bottles from keg

Bottled a Scottish ale from my keg using racking cane and stopper a few months ago. It was fine in the keg, at about 8-9psi an tasted great. Last night I opened one of the bottles and it foamed everywhere when I poured it in my glass and tasted way over carbed. What is the difference?

What to use temp controller for first

So I just bought and received a temp controller, and I also have a small square chest freezer free. I'm wondering if I should: 1) do a fermentation chamber I ferment in the basement and stay right around 68-70 degrees year round. What temp is best for a ferm chamber. 2) do lagering chamber...

    Boston Lager Clone

Just have to brag a little. Trying this clone for first time tonight and not only is it great tasting, but probably the closest clone I have made yet! Taste is very very close, and color is dead on, head is pretty close too. I don't pour the clone quite as aggressive since it was my first one...

    Need advice on next steps

I will be acquiring a few kegs in a few days. I would like to eventually do a three tap tower with an under counter kegerator at my bar. However, I cannot afford the kegerator at this time. I was wanting to just put one in my big fridge with a party tap till I can get the rest of my stuff...

    A different labeling system

My wife came up with this idea, it works great, no labels to take off after drinking the bottle. Easy to put on and recognize the beer even in a cooler or fridge. I have room to expand to more colors, the dots go on the cap of the corresponding beer. Also, the dot is on the glass of the frame...

    Blue Moon Honey Wheat Clone

Just had some blue moon honey wheat last night, and dang that's a good summer beer! I was wondering if anyone had an extract recipe for this beer, the wife actually loved it and would drink it too. I've looked on here, but couldn't find a recipe for it, just some general ideas. I've gathered a...

    Wild grapes

Was picking blackberries today and saw what may be wild grapes. But there are all kids of little green pods busting open with 2-4 green pods inside. Is this how grapes grow? U can post pictures later if anyone needs them.

    First mead attempt

Was contemplating trying to make a few 1 gal batches of mead soon. Tell me what y'all think or have experienced yourself and recommend. 1 gal of Joe's Ancient Orange Mead as recipe states 1 gal of JAO but use dried pomegranate instead of raisins. Would there be a discernible difference, or...
