Anyone go from all grain to extract, and how was it?

I think this was a well written blog on using a Robobrew/Brewzilla. https://brewchatter.com/blogs/brewchatter-homebrewing-blog/troubleshooting-your-robobrew

    The Ultimate Sanke Fermentor

I have two. One with a 6" ferrule and one with an 8". I think the 6" is perfect. If I had to do it over again I would make sure I purchased a high quality ferrule such as the ones from Brewers Hardware. The one I have was cheaper and does not hold as much pressure (which IMHO is one of it's...

    Evolution to Electric

Hi Jon, Not sure if you have seen this system but it is a pretty simple elegant electric solution. http://www.highgravitybrew.com/productcart/pc/EBC-III-with-Infinite-Power-Control-269p3858.htm#.Usjys_RDt8E For another very well thought out system you can check out...

    The Ultimate Sanke Fermentor

Just finished dry hopping (with a sealed fermenter). Now I'm cold crashing with the whole thing while under CO2 pressure. Could never do that with my carboys! :ban:

    The Ultimate Sanke Fermentor

For labor and materials (ferrule, tank & fittings) was around $250. You could go with an 8" on a full size keg but with a 6" I can stick my arm in and reach all the way to the bottom.

Motorized Grain Mills: Time to show them off!

It is basically a cabinet I built to the dimensions of the 8 gal bucket that I wanted to collect grain in. I took the wheels off of a cheap dolly I bought at Harbor Freight. The motor is a 1/2 hp variable speed gear-motor. It may be a little more powerful than needed but I really liked...

    The Ultimate Sanke Fermentor

Brewer's Hardware carries them. http://www.brewershardware.com/6-Tri-Clover-Compatible-Tri-Clamp-Ferrule-WMP-Short-Style.html If you contact Christian at Custom Built Brewing he could get you a price.

    The Ultimate Sanke Fermentor

I thought I would share a couple of pictures of my new sanke fermentor. I like to ferment in a chest freezer for a couple of reasons. * Small size * Fast and low temp cold crashing * Capturing (and holding) a CO2 blanket * Put them on wheels and roll them to my brew location for...

Tired of fruit flies? heres the cure....

I followed the recipe at the top of this thread. Only thing I changed was the volume. 1/4 cup kombucha, 1 tbs raw sugar, 1/2 tsp dish soap. Perhaps it was the smell of the soap but the next day there was a swarm of them around the mouth of my vessels but only one dead fruit fly.

Can I use GT'S to start a SCOBY?

I have two 2.5 gallon dispensers each with 1" multiple generation scobys in them (I do the continuous method). They both came from a starter I made from a bottle of GT's and a quart ball jar. So the answer is yes but it will take longer. It took me almost a month to get a decent scoby on it...

    $5.00 False Bottom Plan

I built the plastic false bottom on my first all grain system in an effort to save money. It worked good. However I did have a couple of problems that needed work arounds. 1) To keep it from collapsing and stopping flow I used the largest 90 deg elbow I could find and then put notches in...

We no need no stinking beer gun...

Counterflow pressure fillers are nothing new. I made one (as pictured above) and shot beer all over the place! Lol! Finally broke down and bought a $100 beergun. Only need one hand and is worth every penny!

Installing a "Vinnie Nail" in a barrel

They can be obtained from McMaster Carr. Unfortunately you have to buy a box which is around $22 plus shipping. I was fortunate enough to have a member who bought a box send me a couple. This is a reply from Vinnie Cilurzo taken from another site. Hope this helps!
