Stand up freezer into Temp controlled Fermenter Build

Yeah I am gonna try that too just to be safe. What do you mean by you haven't done the "bending thing"? I just have to be able to bend all the shelves to the side like you have but AROUND that middle shelf cause the back end lines kinda intersect.

Stand up freezer into Temp controlled Fermenter Build

Ok, I also had the same thoughts though I may need to cut a bit more of the cross rails to get all the shelves bent down and to the left side due to me wanting to keep the middle shelf. Did you use a dremmel or angle grinder etc?

Stand up freezer into Temp controlled Fermenter Build

So do you have tips of how you bent them? Room temp, heated slightly? Did you have to cut the small cross bars? Looking at your I think its the same freezer and I had the same ideas on shelve placement from what you have there except I want to keep the very middle shelf which will allow top and...

    Interested in Joining a PicoFest!

Would anyone know where I could find people that may be interested in a brew fest of sorts that brews less than what Microbrews do? It is kind of like for people starting out in the craft brew industry basically and it helps gets names out there and spreads word.

    Issue with automated gas valve

Thank you. I'll look into that.

Stand up freezer into Temp controlled Fermenter Build

I am going to try and transform this into a temp controlled fermenter/keezer. This will obviously be quite a task since most shelves have the coils built in so what I am thinking is the middle shelves will be the only one left after I bend the rest to god knows where. That would give me full...

    Interested in Joining a PicoFest!

So far....SLOW :). I need more interested brewers that would want to sign up for the fest before moving on and I have seen little interest. I was trying to think of other avenues for finding more brewers that would be interested. If you know of any, let me know.

    Interested in Joining a PicoFest!

I am clipping this from another source but it explains it perfectly... A micro-brewery typically uses between a 30 to 60 barrel brew system. The brewery typically only has one brew system, unlike Craft breweries which can have several brewing systems. At a micro-brewery the system will produce...

    Interested in Joining a PicoFest!

I am looking into interests in doing a PicoFest around the general Portland Oregon area. Since Microbrewers have their many own Fest's, and there are others that brew in much smaller batches that may want to meet and greet other Pico brewers trying to start in the industry I think it may be...

    Stuck Bohemian Lager Beer

Temp gauges are electronic and calibrated so that is not it. UPDATE: After pitching 6 days ago the numbers haven't moved. Doesn't taste super sugary or anything so im guessing there just may not be anymore sugers left? What do you guys think? Call it and start lagering?

    Stuck Bohemian Lager Beer

That all makes sense and I will report back as soon as I get some results but should I pitch at the temp it is now at 68 or take it back down to say 60?

    Stuck Bohemian Lager Beer

yeah i didn't adjust the hydro numbers so it is prob sitting at about 1026 yeah. Do you guys think I should take it back down to 60 degrees then before pitching this because its still sitting at 68 right now.

    Stuck Bohemian Lager Beer

Maybe using the same yeast might be better to keep the flavor profile from straying..but you think another started is necessary? With all of 200 Bil cells per package and only ~18 points to go?

    Stuck Bohemian Lager Beer

Yeah I guess I can try a packet of US-05. That should work at the temp its at now correct? I havent had to dump additional yeast in awhile.

    Stuck Bohemian Lager Beer

Tad hot? For which grain? I usually use similar temps. Its been sitting at 68 for a week now and I have randomly been shaking it a bit but I am also wondering if I inject some O2 in there to maybe help?

    Stuck Bohemian Lager Beer

I notice the yeast cake is on the bottom and I had tried many times over the 3 weeks to shake the hell out of the beer to re circulate the yeasties to wake those bastards up but lately its not "moving the needle" so to speak. Batch Size: 5.00 gal Style: Bohemian Pilsner ( 2B) Boil Size: 5.71...

    Stuck Bohemian Lager Beer

Started was made with Light DME (Boiled in the calculated amount of water and yeast was pitched after temp was below 70) NOTE: I use beersmith for all calculations and to store/create my recipes as it is consistent and accurate.
