A City cop was on his horse waiting to cross the street when a little girl on her new shiny bike stopped beside him. "Nice bike," the cop said "did Santa bring it to you?" "Yep," the little girl said, "he sure did!" The cop looked the bike over and handed the girl a $5 ticket for a safety...
Depending on where you live, snow cover can help with preventing winter dessication. If you don't get much snow than I would add some shredded leaves 6-8" thick. Here is a link on preventing crown damage.

I used the Wyeast 2565 at 59* and it is at 3 weeks. I opened it up to check the gravity and noticed the krausen is at least an 1" thick, yeasty smelling and very thick almost doughy. Is this normal for this yeast? It has not disappeared like normally an ale yeast would after this amount of time...
I purchased 1/2" magnets from Radio Shack and had to line up 4 to get it to work at all. I couldn't run my plate very fast without throwing the bar. It was a headache so I purchased (2) 3/8"x3/8" round neodymium magnets from K&J Magnetics for about $1.75 each plus shipping. I can run my plate...
Speaking of potato leaf hoppers, here is a biweekly update we here in Michigan get that helps us manage our hops. It might be useful to you.

I buy 8" wide rolls and cut them to fit whatever quantity I'm looking to seal. All of my cascade bags are 2 oz. and the bags are 9-10" long. I always leave them slightly long because there will be times you will seal the end and then find out there is a ripple in it and it is slowly sucking air...
That's a great price. I just picked up a stripped lower from Palmetto SA for $119 and that's the best price I've seen since the panic started back in Dec.
I'm building it slowly as parts become available. Waiting on a Magpul stock kit and haven't totally decided on the upper parts yet.

You should be able to mount the thermostat outside the chamber close to where your primary will be and run the thermistor through the side and just tape it to the side of your primary. As long as it isn't more than 24" away, you shouldn't have to solder anything.
Looking at this other design...
Good luck to you in this large endeavor. I have 47 plants and it is quite a lot of work. Sounds like you have a good plan going. I was only going to do a few plants but then it got out of control. Here are some pics of 20 cascade, 10 columbus, and 10 chinook. I potted up 10 centennial for this...
I do not see anything that I need to change because it works good as is. The biggest issue I have is that it is foam and the foam is soft. You need to really be careful when lifting out the front and top so as not to damage the edges and corners by denting them. The key to good cooling is the...
It seems odd you lost some flavor. I bottled up 1 gal. batches of banana and rhubarb today as both were 13 and 14 months. The banana was still a little hot but not bad (decent flavor). I'll let it age awhile longer.
The rhubarb had good flavor also but was dry. I like dry wines so I think I...
