Thought I'd add as well that the PID reads dead on with a digital thermometer I use to check temp with in the HLT while I heat the dough-in water.

Great. Haven't had an issue since I bought them and brew once every month or two. The cable that comes with the probe is top quality and the disconnect at the kettle is super convenient for moving my brew cart and control panel/pump cart separately.

That's an awesome setup and price but I'm a 10-12 gal brewer (with a 20 gal electric version of this Stout setup). I saw in the second pic of the mash tun (3rd one down) there look like little bolts around the false bottom. Did the FB come that way or did you modify it? Just curious as to what...

That was my concern, pci looks good upfront but I've questioned a few pieces and then when I checked them out on preview day the quality, as you mentioned, wasn't the greatest. I don't have a need for a triple sink now (my wife reminded me of our other priorities before redoing the basement...

So are these all coming from the PCI auction site and then you're reselling them for a serious profit or did u have this kitchen equipment sitting around?

How did the cooling coil work out?

Just checked and the free shipping over $249 isn't valid anymore... Shipping for one (to PA) and the conical is roughly $100. For $100 I still believe these tanks are worth it, I was just trying to get an idea of any other sources that don't charge $35-$40 shipping when the tank is $65

I have welded TC on my setup at every location except the plate chiller which utilizes threaded TC just ti keep connections consistent... My system is from Stout (which is a story for another day... Or thread) but its all they offer and I'm glad i have them. I know my system isn't sanitary...

I too love the simplicity of this setup and i don't even have a sampling/transfer port (yet!). I screw it down real tight, watch the yeast pile up at the bottom of the cone, transfer with the auto syphon through the top, and then dump the yeast through my bottom valve into a sanitized mason jar...
