It also depends on the type of vanilla you use. Madagascar borban are the sweetest.
If you get from super market chances they are from Mexico and don't have as much flavours and sweetness
I'm look at my first porter and like the look on what you are trying.
Could you tell me what base you used for porter and any other information would be appreciated.

I'm not sure about the sequence of diacetyl rest, do I rack before I raise temperature for to days and do I raise it gradually ,or do I rack after cold crash or before ???
