    splitting batch

^What he said I've split a batch and fermented 2 gallons in a 5 gallon bucket with no problems. As long as it's a primary and not secondary fermenter

    It finally happened to me!

Good to hear! Tasted a beer yesterday, and it's not very good. First time using columbus hops, and used waaay too much for aroma. Hoping it will get better, because I have 5 gallons

    Dry hop suggestions Columbus/Amarillo

Made a yeast starter the day before I brewed, apparently not a very good one. I have used washed yeast in the past with no problems, so that's not much of an issue for me. Thanks for the suggestions so far guys

    Does It Double?

Sorry, only scanned his posts. Didn't see the part about keeping the volume the same

    Does It Double?

I don't think you add the IBU's, rather get an average between the 2. If you have 2 bottles of the same beer, and combine them in one glass, it's not going to be double as bitter.

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Bottled this on Monday, drank a few today and it's great! Changed the some amounts, but pretty much followed the recipe. Will probably make this often. Thanks!

Use something called Iodophor. Can't get star san here as far as I know, but I don't think the problem was that I had the wrong sanitizer.

How many gallons of BierMuncher's Centennial Blonde have been brewed?

4052 Changed a few things, but still mostly followed the recipe. It's been in primary for almost a week now, and it smells great!

I think the bucket doesn't close properly, so that might explain it. Tossed the beer btw, will replace it (in a different bucket) today!

It's in the same fermenter that the other infection was in. I do sanitize everything thoroughly before using it though. It might be the bucket then.
