    Tapping into existing drain pipe

So it's starting to look like what I thought might be a relatively easy project is turning into more than I care to deal with. I also have no idea what the long term layout is going to look like and don't want to do something now that would create problems down the road. But with that said...

    Tapping into existing drain pipe

I haven't really thought about a budget for the bigger project. I was hoping to brew in the space to get a feel for how I might want to lay things out. Even then, it could be at least a few years before the extra stuff happens and I just want to be able to brew now. It's been way too long!

    Tapping into existing drain pipe

When the alternative is not brewing at all, I'd rather go through the hassle. I don't have a lot of time to dedicate to brewing. If I have a dedicated area where I don't have to get everything out and put it away every time, I would have a lot more flexibility when I could brew. And the...

    Tapping into existing drain pipe

I know I'll have to deal with the vent but back to the question on the drain...would it be better to replace the 90 with a tee/wye and have the new drain come in from the right like this: Or leave the existing 90 and put the tee/wye to the left of it like this:

    Tapping into existing drain pipe

Thanks for all of the suggestions. As other have stated, since this is below the house waste line and requires a pump, an AAV won't work. The wall for the laundry room is finished but the other side is the garage so I could probably access the vent it without messing with the living space. It...

    Tapping into existing drain pipe

Sorry, I should've specified that the brewery sink will be below the drain line shown in the pictures and will require a pump. The original pictures show the drain coming through the first floor into the basement ceiling. Once below the floor joists, the left turn takes this to the main house...

    Tapping into existing drain pipe

Wow...didn't realize it's been over a year and a half since I posted this. Life kinda got in the way for the brewery. Anyway, bumping this post. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    GFCI location

So I looked up my panel on the manufacturers website to verify that the breaker I was looking at can be used safely in my panel. I also confirmed with them that the 3 I was looking at are the same except for the packaging. Thanks for all of the advice and suggestions!

    GFCI location

I see that Square D has 3 versions of the 50A GFCI breaker. Will all of these work? QO250GFICP Mini circuit breaker, QO, 50A, 2 pole, 120/240VAC, 10kA, 6mA grd fault A, pigtail, plug in mount, consumer pack QO250GFIC Mini circuit breaker, QO, 50A, 2 pole, 120/240VAC, 10kA, 6mA grd fault A...

    Tapping into existing drain pipe

I'm adding a sink to my basement for brewing and need to tap into an existing drain. I think the easiest thing to do would be use the drain pipe from the laundry room since that's exposed in the brewing area. Here's where the laundry drain comes into the basement from above: The left shows...

    GFCI location

I have GE and Midwest panels. I have no plans to run anything else off of this breaker so GFCI breaker in the panel seems like the best way to go. Thanks!

    GFCI location

Are you suggesting just putting the 50A gfci breaker in the main panel and not using the sub-panel? I won't be able to find a breaker for my main panel that's not ridiculously expensive. The sub-panel is also in the basement near where I'll be brewing but the main panel is in the garage...

    GFCI location

I used to brew in my garage and had 50A breaker --> 50A outlet --> 50A GFCI (spa panel) --> control panel (there was a decent distance between the 50A outlet and my brewing area). I'm moving my setup to my basement and I'm trying to figure out the best way to wire the GFCI. Currently, there's...

    Walk in cooler insulation

The insulation in the exterior walls is batt. Two of the walls are new (2016) and the other two are older (1993). Could I use rigid insulation with foil right against the drywall that has the batt? So block wall | batt | drywall | rigid? If so, how thick would the rigid need to be if I'm...
