    I couldnt agree more Lager_Meister, recently I made an AG Amber ale an extract American pale ale. My AG amber ale has mixed reviews but my pale ale is an absolute favorite with everyone and it was so easy to brew. I think using extract should not be frowned upon as extracts have come along way...

    FIRST AG HEFE! OG: 1.070, ok or dilute?

    Cheers mate! After pouring her out of the kettle into the fermenter it worked out there was about 42 litres there, topped her up to 50 litres and got 1.061 right on the mark! Just waiting for the temperature to drop before I pitch my M20 Bavarian yeast starter :)

    Just used brewersfriend.com's hydrometer adjustment calculator and with a temperature of 45 degrees celcius and my hydrometer calibrated at 15.6 my OG would actually be 1.079..!!! Bit worried...
