Adding Grape juice to Holiday Ale

Thx for the Muscat input. Midas Touch is fantastic, but I want the color as much of the taste. Really going for a hybrid beer/mulling spice wine concoction--not sure Muscat would give me what I want.

Adding Grape juice to Holiday Ale

@Zwerski: Thanks for the input. Still on the fence with the idea. Want to go with a really dark and sweet grape but dont want to spend a ton. I'll have to look around at my options. Definitely no major commercial stuff (Welch's)--afraid of uninvited bugs so I may end up with some true grape must...

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

Founder's Frangelico Mountain. Sickening sweet Hazelnut overkill. Like bad convenience-store "cappuccino".

    Trub Disposal: weird question??

Thanks for the additional thoughts. No dry drain probs--this is a frequently used bathroom. And to repeat--the smell is very musty but not sewer-like. Over the past several days I've been dumping bleach in the toilet and sink drain with little to no effect so I really don't think they are the...

    Blending yeast varieties

Thanks to you both for the input. Quick question--what do you consider a "big starter"? I've not used a starter yet, have researched pitch-rate a bit, but would still appreciate input (I also intend to view the forums). The-

    Blending yeast varieties

I am preparing to brew a Belgian Quad (partial mash--hope to hit 1.080+) and my original plan was to use 3787 Trappist High Gravity. I also have a pack of 3739 Flanders Golden (special release). After reading some great things about this yeast I am considering blending the two. I am interested...

    Trub Disposal: weird question??

Wow--sorry for all the typos in my latest response. Damn autocorrect! Meant to say that I used the toilet because I was afraid of clogging the sink drain.

    Trub Disposal: weird question??

Used the toilet be aide (ironically) I was worries about clogging the drain! Figured lots of Gross sstuff goes through there so why not a little more. Plus-cold winter so I did toss any in the back yard. Dumped a s*load of bleach is the toilet tonight. Let it sit for a while then flushed. Will...

    Trub Disposal: weird question??

New brewer here--8 extract brews in and I have an odd question: Is there anything wrong with disposing of the trub in the toilet (city sewers not septic) ??? I ask this because we are getting a very earthy smell coming from that bathroom (yes--make any jokes you want). I was wondering if the...
