    Ask Your Welding Questions Here!!!

Too bad he didn't hit it with a wire brush while it was still hot... would have cleared up the discoloration. If no leaks, you should be fine for a boil kettle. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Home Brew mobile app

    Keggle ''extension''

My system is all electric, but I still managed a boil over. Problem is once you get close to boil temp, you have to switch to a power percentage to boil at the proper intensity. If it gets out of hand it can quickly boil over before you can reset the control... You have the option to kill the...

    Keggle ''extension''

Welding a keg is not as simple as many welders think (this I'd discussed in many threads here on HBT). Best chance of success is if the keg is TIG welded, and the back side of the weld is purged with inert gas. Good luck and have fun. Ed

    Keggle ''extension''

It is definitely possible to have a boil over with a 5 gallon batch in a standard american sanke. I'm sure you can guess how I know this. And doing a 10 gallon batch certainly requires monitoring. I think there are ways you could do 10 gallons in a euro, but there's a good chance you'll have...

    The Walking dead

That sounds like something that could happen after a night of too much drinken... A case of the raging, flaming zombies

    The Walking dead

With all the ammo and accuracy talk, maybe I just missed it. But where does Daryle get the bolts for his crossbow? I know he retrieves them, but does he never lose one? And is a crossbow really the weapon you would use to clear the corridors of the prison? Also, after killing countless...

    The Walking dead

Now your logic makes perfect sense... How could any child have ever survived without powdered formula and disposable diapers :drunk: No way you could have come to that conclusion by reading the books that parallel the show. I bet that in school you read ahead just so you could let everyone...

Best way to cut the top off of a keg

IMO, Hand held power tools such as angle grinders and drills are not the same as "Rotating Equipment" described in the warning. If you get a glove or sleeve caught in a lathe, or mill it can pull your arm off... not likely with an angle grinder.

Best way to cut the top off of a keg

I'm guessing you knew the cutout in your keggle was not perfectly round. I'm also guessing that you knew you could grind/cut/sand to make it more round if you chose to put in the time. Your keggle works for you... that's what counts. Thanks for contributing! Ed

How to block a hole in stainless?

Have one welded. While you're at it, take advantage of the situation and add a dump valve to the other Ed

Garden hose water... how bad is it?

I found a 1/2" x 100' roll of PEX tubing at one of the big box stores for about the cost of a garden hose. PEX IS waterline, used inside houses, etc. You can find brass garden hose adapters that will push into the PEX if you heat the PEX a bit with a heat gun. PEX is not as easy to coil &...

Electric burners - Any builders out there?

Looks good, but I do have a question. What are your thoughts on how you will drain the pump when you're finished? Ed

Using 2 pumps at the same time

You should be able to run 2 on a 15 amp circuit with no problem. (Unless you have a lot of other stuff on the same circuit) Ed

What will happen to my beer when i die?

I'm pretty sure it leaks out. Oh wait, you mean the beer that you haven't drank... never mind.
