    Won't have any affect what so ever. I've brewed this beer several times using the same recipe as you're using, except for the yeast, and never have a problem. The yeast won't mind. :)

    Going to brew my Cream Ale recipe tomorrow with a first time use of the WL080 cream ale blend of yeast. I've read a lot a good things about this yeast so I'm kind of excited to try it! Next in line is going to be my first attempt at a Porter.

    I've found that this beer takes between 4-6 weeks before it's really reached it's prime. The alcohol content along with the spices take awhile to blend together and mellow out. Just kegged mine and it came in with an F.G. of 1.011 producing an ABV of 7.2%.

    I spread mine out on an insulated baking pan so it's about 3/4" thick. Bake it at 350° for 60 minutes. Let it cool to the same temperature as your strike water and add it in.

    I've brewed this beer twice now and have forced carbed it both times to 2.6 vol.'s. You'll loss a bit in the bottling process so your final product should be at about 2.5 vol.'s in the bottle, which past experience has told me is just about perfect! Hope this helps.
