    Stuck fermentations

What temp is your controller set to. Go put the carboy in a sink of warm water for a while after swirling the yeast to suspend them, that'll wake em up. Works for me. Then raise the temp a few on the freezer.

    Mashing 4 pounds

I am mashing just over 4 pounds of grain. Will my 10 gallon mash tun be too big for this? It is the big round yellow water cooler with false bottom.

    Question about bottle conditioning

Colder is ok, it will just take longer to carb and condition. Just don't go so cold the yeast go to sleep.

    First BIG beer

So I brewed an all grain Wee Heavy. It came in at 1.104. Well honestly it isn't ALL grain. I thought my OG was going to be off, so I added in 1 pound of light DME, so I ended up over of where I wanted to be. This is a 3 gallon batch, and it goes a little something like this. 8# Crisp Pale...

Recipe thoughts, beer for the girlfriend

Lighter tasting as opposed to overly matly, not as in bud light coors light, etc. Also as in not heavy mouth feel or in the belly. The pilsen should keep it really light.

Imperial Stout Russian Imperial Stout (2011 HBT Competition Category Winner)

So I brewed this. I brewed a half batch and did so on my stove. My calculations were off, and I ended up with more wort than I planned, so my gravity was a little low. (a gallon too much, used the brew 365 sparging calc, but my gas stove doesnt run as hot as an outside burner, so evap was way...

What's the best way to add priming sugar?

I always boil my sugar, place in bottling bucket and rack on top of it.never had an issue.

How small can a partial boil be?

I have always pitched it before my drive, even when the drive was significantly longer than that. Never had a bad batch.

    I switched the DME/LME

If you added them the wrong way around, and the gravity points of each was different, the only difference in the beer will be in hop utilization. You will still have beer, just a bit different of a hop profile.

    21A Bitter American

As it aged just a little it became one of the best beers I ever brewed.
