American Amber Ale Hoppy American Amber or Malty American Pale Ale?

Found this recipe by looking for something good to do with golden naked oats. I love a good amber, so this sounds great! I never really mess with my water, but since you listed the numbers I figured I'd throw it in beersmith and see what's what. I typically use spring water which I've heard...

Sweet Stout Left Hand Milk Stout Clone

Couldn't decide between this or an RIS, so I split the difference and added 8 lb of marris otter to this recipe (plus another ounce of hops for balance). SG of 1.088 and FG looks to be about 1.020. Gravity check after the first week just tasted like alcohol, but second week check is great...

Recipe - Saison Little Ry Spelt wrong

I do a saison with about 15% rye and I love it. It ends up finishing a little higher than some saisons, but it's still pretty tasty. I also use 3724 though, not sure how 585 compares.

Traveling to Galveston, Texas - Beer to Try?

There are several new breweries in Houston, I can hardly keep track. Saint Arnold is the local standard, been around the longest and do some great stuff. Lately I've been in love with 8th wonder, specifically their Vietnamese coffee porter, "Rocket Fuel" Great stuff imo, and should be...

    Workbench / Rolling Cart / 4-tap Keezer

Well that was a close one! Went out of town on the weekend, came back to check my beer on Monday and found everything flat! Turns out my old co2 regulator blew a gasket, co2 level 0. LHBS did a quick refill and sold me a new reg, so I'm back in business. Added some chains to hold the tanks...

    Workbench / Rolling Cart / 4-tap Keezer

Got a bunch done over the weekend, pretty much done at this point. I still want to add a hose off of the 3-way regulator to use for force-carbing or other random CO2 needs for kegs outside the keezer (purging, cleaning, etc.). Need to get a left-hand thread hose barb and a valve of some sort...

What came in the mail for you today?

30 pint glasses from amazon. Having a party soon to break in the new keezer and just couldn't bear with serving in plastic cups. Also a beer line cleaning kit from kegconnection because I'm too lazy to build my own

Will (some) the Vanilla Flavor Drop Out

My last porter I did 5 vanilla beans and was really worried when I kegged it. A month later and I only get a hint of vanilla when it's really warm

Brewing with Wyeast 3724 Belgian Saison

Are you sure it's done? 8 days isn't very long and candi sugar shouldn't leave a sweet taste, only dryness. How much candi sugar and what was your FG?

    Workbench / Rolling Cart / 4-tap Keezer

I'm still working on the details, but here is my garage workbench/rolling cart/keezer build! Space is at a premium in my garage, and I wanted the ability to serve beer in the backyard, driveway, etc. I also needed an additional workbench, ideally at around the same height as my current work...

Brewing with Wyeast 3724 Belgian Saison

Wyeast website says "This strain is notorious for a rapid and vigorous start to fermentation, only to stick around 1.035 S.G. Fermentation will finish, given time and warm temperatures. Warm fermentation temperatures, at least 90°F (32°C), or the use of a secondary strain can accelerate...

Co2 regulator gauge backwards after swap

    That totally worked! Thanks!

Co2 regulator gauge backwards after swap

So I'm setting up my new keezer, and to make room for the co2 tank and nitro tank, I wanted to swap the connection on the primary regulator so that it sticks out to the right, not the left. Works ok and seems to be leak free, but as you can see the gauge tightens up in the backwards position...

Beer line length for 650ss flow control faucets?

Currently building out my keezer with flow control taps and had this same question. Previously I had 6' lines for my picnic taps, and that length seemed to work well when I first mounted the new taps. While waiting for my ultra barrier line to come in I decided to do an experiment. Saison at...

    AB Super Bowl Ad

How awesome would it be if 6-8 months from now every craft brewery has a pumpkin peach ale on the shelves, LOL.
