    Brewery names--what's your story?

Meh, not much to tell. I live in Delaware, the Diamond State, and damn near everywhere in the state's either near the Delaware Bay (up north) or the Chesapeak Bay (down south) so I went with Diamond Bay Brewing Co. Also, it looks good on a mash paddle handle.

I need a single PID, single element diagram

Thanks for posting guys! I'm looking to do the same thing, a 5500k element, 240v, 30A, single pump, single PID, with dual temp probes (one for BK/HLT, one for MT) which all seems workable from some of PJ's diagrams (thanks, btw! Your work is astounding.) My only alteration is I want a secondary...

    Thinkin'....I'm thinkin'.....I'm thinkin'....

not just tinkerers, but mad tinkerers. But, tinker away good sirs! As per Boerderij Kabouter's Simple Brewery/TwentE design, it's a single tier, continuous/no sparge system. (I'll probably get a grant (read; big pot I used when I made smaller batches) and batch sparge from there) Gravity is...

    Money!!!

+1 on that! $300 on Blichanns? Yeah, they look purty, but I'm in it to use the stuff, not stare at it. I'm in it for the functionality. A converted keg works fine for me. Yeah, I kinda figured it would take me a while to come up with all the parts. I started gathering my bits and pieces a...

    Spent Grains as Chicken Feed?

Mike Rowe was with an Alaskan vet on Dirty Jobs a while back checking up on an old bull moose who's teeth had gone bad. The farmer said they switched him over to beer mash because it was softer and the vet said it was good. my in-laws asked for my spent grains for thier hogs & chickens, and the...

New Brewer from New Castle, DE

Welcome! I'm in Wilmington, come on out to a First State Brewers meeting. Third Friday of the month, at a different brewer's house every time. Not a competition club, a get-together-and-try-everyone's-brews-and-talk-shop club. Lots of fun. Great people. www.Firststatebrewers.com Where'd...

    Thinkin'....I'm thinkin'.....I'm thinkin'....

Thanks, but adding a 3rd keg is what I'm trying to avoid. It adds demand for space, equipment and complexity. Also, I'm trying to stay with reusing the equipment I already have. I already have a keg bk and mlt with weldless fitting that work fine. My main concern is trying to figure out how to...

    Thinkin'....I'm thinkin'.....I'm thinkin'....

Wow. I think I've lurked on here long enough. I've been brewing for about two years now. I did a couple extract batches and moved on up to keggle/converted keg/whatever all grain fairly quickly. My problem? I've always intended to eventually brew in my basement rather then out in the elements. I...
